'B' Cinemascore , lowest in MCU

Only film to receive less than an A- is Thor 1 with B+

OUCH

reply

A "B" is still too high for this movie.

reply

It has the lowest cinema score, lowest IMDB score, lowest RT score, and lowest metacritic score. will probably end up with the lowest box office too, except for maybe The Incredible Hulk.

reply

I have not seen the film yet, so I can't comment, but if it is as bad as people are saying, then perhaps the low score/low box office/poor reception will be a good thing in the long run. To this point, the MCU films have avoided any woke-ness/diversity-for-diversity's-sake/political nonsense, so if their first attempt to infuse politics into a film fails, they will likely dial back to their previous methods.

reply

I haven't seen any evidence that wokeness is the reason people don't like the film. Chloe Zhao just wasn't equipped to direct a movie like this. She can handle the cinematography and visuals, but doesn't have a clue how to direct actors or write characters that are relatable. The dialogue is uncomfortably bad at times. And the film has no pacing or structure. The only wokeness angle is Marvel pushing mediocre female directors ahead of talented male ones.

reply

Agreed. Saw it last night. It had overly woke tones but even that was overshadowed by how poorly put together it was.

reply

I thought the last Avengers film had plenty of wokeness. Pretty sure that's not why people are not liking it that much....its probably just a bad boring movie...

reply

Liar! Hulk is lowest on IMDb.

reply

Well excuse me. That makes all the difference!

I don't really count it as an MCU movie Besides which, IMDB scores go down over time. In 13 years The Eternals will definitely be lower than 6.6.

Batman v Superman got a B as well and I'd say the movie is about as bad as that. Similar running time, with things I liked but plenty I didn't and the good far outweighs the bad. Both movies let down by crappy screenplays. Still this isn't the turkey that Wonder Woman 1984 was.
