A real cop/Marshall would never have let Mayfield go

Real cops have no sense of honor.

But why did they let Mayfield go? Even though he showed some sense of justice by blowing the whole refinery up he's still a sketchy dude and could turn at any time. Suppose the empire comes back and finds him wandering around that planet, he's going to have to explain something and join them.

It was whack as hell that he murdered all those soldiers after getting weepy about a bunch of dead soldiers. Like bro. You're just as bad as that commander you just whacked. What a sociopath.

reply

Well he murdered all the soldiers that were in on murdering 5000 to 10000 Mayfield's own soldiers. Remember the officer said that what they were mining there could cause more chaos that would make Operation Cinder pale by comparison. So maybe Mayfield felt like he had to stop that. Not sociopathic at all, kinda heroic.

She's not a real cop, I don't think there's any legal code of justice system on Navarro. I think she just kicks the assess that the local power structures want kicked.

reply

Pretty much. She was a guerrilla fighter who went rogue once the order was established and will probably leave the Marshal office should the Outer Rim become more civilized.

reply

Well, first of all, Cara isn't a cop. She's actually a soldier... a Republic Shock Trooper to be exact. She fought on the opposite side of Mayfield during the Galactic War. She really has no duty-bound code to uphold space lawman principles when she's still a soldier at heart. His act of bravery at the end -- blowing up the refinery -- earned him some respect points with her, which is why she let him go. He probably did more for the Rebels than any mission she partook in during the time when she was a trooper.

reply

She was made a Marshall. A Marshall is a cop. She used to be soldier, shock trooper, tinker, spy.

Real cops don't have the authority to break criminals out of prison or decide to let them walk, ya dingus.

Mayfield did them a solid and she rewarded him for it. I think it's very heavily implied the guy "learned his lesson" and is not a fan of the Empire. How did you not pick up on that.

This post makes no sense. You say no real cop would do what Cara did because real cops "have no honor", but then turn around and seem to have a problem with what she did, LOL.

reply

She is a marshall, and that's a cop with a lot of clout amongst the new republic, ya snapperhead. And she's acting all cop-like. When he asked what he'd get in return for helping them, she said, "You'll get a better view" or in other words not much. How did you not pick that up?? LOL

Yeah no doubt he's not a fan of the Empire. But he is like Cypher from the Matrix and can't be trusted.

That's right, that's why I said she is no real cop. What she did is honorable conehead giving him his freedom for doing something great. Your idea I have a problem with it is your imagination. I liked what she did but question it. You make no sense. LOL.

reply

A real cop CAN'T let a prisoner go. Your comparison has no merit.

reply

Did you read the title? ffs. Comprehension ability of kids these days.

She had been made a "cop"or a Marshall and at first was only granting Mayfield "a better view" in return for his help and said so with malice. Then she just about faces and let's this sketchy guy go.

This is like the Wild West. I mean the whole end sequence of each episode is straight out of a Clint Eastwood movie, soundtrack included. The Outer Rim is the wild frontier of the galaxy. Representatives of the law, where people are lucky enough to have them at all, often take a few ... liberties in discharging their duty. This isn't necessarily a bad thing mind you. Maximal policing - making every arrest you can and prosecuting every case you can - is not good policing.

She's was out of her jurisdiction :-)

Don’t give me that juris my diction crap

reply

why not?

The orders were for your protection.
