As bad as critics say?

How is it?

reply

I'd say so. It's got a similar Rotten Tomatoes score to Moonfall but I think Moonfall is more fun than this. Moonfall is dumb fun whereas Jurassic World Dominion is just dumb. Even with low expectations I was still letdown.

reply

It was terrible and extremely dull. Worst Jurassic Park film in the franchise. Don't waste your money.

reply

i think it wasn't worse than the average marvel blockbuster (which usually are way overrated by the same critics). it had a few cool scenes and was slightly less cheesy than the first jurassic world movie, but of couse, it's still mediocre and lacking the movie magic of spielberg's works.

reply

Haven’t seen it but haven’t they just been making the same film over and over for decades anyway?

reply

Yes. It's the worst of the 6. I say this as someone who enjoyed Fallen Kingdom too.

reply

I also liked Fallen Kingdom, and Dominion is close probably #5 of the six for me, just bad and wasted the old cast members. Pratt felt like he was sleepwalking, and the overall plot was just non-sensical.

reply

Yeah. You could tell none of the cast wanted to be there and was just phoning it in for the paycheck

It was entertaining.

But nothing new. Absolutely nothing new to offer. It was a rehash of 1st & 2nd part. This movie is even more formulaic & predictable as much as it could get.

The second film established a grand layout of dinosaurs released & spread around the world and how humans would deal with them was the big question. But it doesn't deal with that issue and makes it look so easy that humans use them for sports. Random characters get eaten away instantly, whereas the main characters get all the time in the world to think for dues ex machina; characters behave just how the writers want.

The Chinese scientist did his genetic engineering to make evil & stronger versions of organisms. He did it in 1st part and repented. He did it in 2nd part and repented. He does it again in 3rd part by making some deadly genetically modified Locusts and repents again and wants to make-up for his mistake by studying a cloned girl. Such lame is the plot. So they have Locusts, Cloning & genetically engineered asexual reproduction and such stuffs bagged into it. I mean if he is a good guy, why would he not learn from his mistakes. Why the hell did he still make those deadly locusts in first place in this film?

Hence the movie is totally contrived. Just a summer blockbuster Popcorn flick. A Michael Bayish script not expected from Trevorrow.

The only interesting thing would have been if they publicly executed the teenage clone girl, William Wallace style….after letting all the dinosaurs at the end of the previous movie surely having killed thousands of people.

You sick fuck, Ldlamb!

I would say it's worse than they say.

Its the first entry that wasn't even enjoyable upon first viewing. I love the first movie(one of my top 10 all time) and like the other 4 even with their flaws. However, this movie is just... terribly terrible. Pretty much as bad as Rise of Skywalker.

I could list hundreds reasons why but at the end of they day it's just incredibly lazy and boring story writing, screenplay writing, terrible character development/progression. The direction, pacing, and execution even makes the action scenes a bore fest. I mean its a movie about Dinosaurs and they couldn't even make it exciting to watch. Upon all else as others have said they completely wasted if not ruined the original characters. I could forgive all else and just leave it as a poor movie but the idea that they ruined Dr. Grant and Dr. Malcom actually angers me.

Its actually shocking that these film writers were not only given the high profile job of writing a sequel to a prolific franchise with millions of world wide fans spanning 30 years, they were paid millions to do it.

The real question is who liked it and why?? I would think most people who give it a positive review are going to have very rudimentary reasons.
