Would you consider this a superhero movie?

I mean, Batman isn't in it, but it is the same world. There were no superpowers used and there was no hero.

reply

I don't know. I was actually surprised by how much the Batman setting lent to the film. I thought it would be a silly gimmick, but it really did strengthen the story.

reply

Before I saw it people were saying they hint at Batman. I don't think they were paying attention. There is quite a bit more references to him than they were claiming.

reply

Why can't it be called a supervillain movie? Is that not allowed?

reply

I'll accept.

reply

No, I wouldn't consider it a superhero movie.

reply

There's no superhero in it. So no.

reply

I'd consider it a comic book movie but not a superhero movie.

reply

Me too.

reply

mos def not

It depends what you mean by "superhero movie". If you mean "mainstream comic book movie (ie, not Ghost World or Road to Perdition)" then, yes. It features DC characters and settings, so, I'd say it's rightly a comic book film

If you mean "has a superhero in it", then I don't think so. There aren't any powers, abilities, or even gadgets that suggest superheroes, and nobody's a "hero".

reply

Not really.
