Hard to tell at this point given how divided the Academy voters are as well as it's rottentomatoes score.
Phoenix forsure will get nominated along with a Best Adapted Screenplay nom but Best Picture and Director is a coin toss at this point.
What do you guys think? They might treat it like Dark Knight and give it a ton of technical noms as well as a Best Actor nom but stop there.

Actor, may be some technical stuff... and because there are like 10 movies which get a best picture nom may be joker is also one of them...but I don't think the academy will give the oscar again for an portrait of the joker....

Well, as a whole, I don't think the movie should be winning the best picture...nominated...? I guess it depends what else shows up this year. It's an excellent film, but I think it's more of a character study than anything else. It probably deserves the nomination, although I do think the film has flaws.
Will it be nominated, though? I doubt it. Critics have given it mixed bag reviews and it doesn't seem like it's politically on-message. It's perceived that way, anyway, so I think they'll steer clear.
Phoenix should definitely be a contender for best actor, though. I would be surprised if he wasn't nominated. I would also be surprised if he won. I feel like the Academy won't want to double-down on giving The Joker an acting Oscar. They'll remember Ledger and maybe ignore Phoenix.
