The Best Part of this movie

Was the end when Leo torched that Bitch with the flamethrower in his pool.. LOL!! Too bad that didn't happen in real life to the Manson Family??

This needs a bump. ☻
And I'll continue.

And I did dig the music in the movie along with Margot Robbie, but other than that, it's one of the more forgettable Tarantino movies along with The Hateful Eight.. Now, to me, "JACKIE BROWN" is one of the more criminally underrated Tarantino movies that just happened to fall in the shadow of PULP FICTION's Popularity at the time and was sort of forgotten since both movies were 3 Years apart

reply

>to me, "JACKIE BROWN" is one of the more criminally underrated Tarantino movies

Ah, the mating call of the hipster.

reply

I agree with him, and I'm about as far from a hipster as it gets. Jackie Brown is a very good movie, that could be one of his best, but they left a little too much in when they edited it. Some of the long, drawn out shots linger too long, and it makes the movie feel slower than it should.

reply

I agree that Jackie Brown is a good movie. I like it a little more every time I watch it. But it's hands down Tarantino's weakest movie, by a mile. Every movie he makes, he slathers it with his unique special sauce until it's dripping with it. JB is the exception to the rule. When he made Jackie Brown, he put in like three measly drops of QT sauce. It barely feels like a Tarantino movie. Outside of a couple of moments it feels like something a hundred other directors could have made. When someone says "Jackie Brown is Tarantino's best movie" they might as well say "I don't like Tarantino movies very much." OUTIH is pure Tarantino to the core.

reply

That isn't wrong, but I'll bet that comes from this being an adaptation, rather than an original screenplay. Tough to juggle being faithful to the source material and making it your own thing. I actually think Inglorious Bastards is his worst film, but it seems to be widely loved. It just never stuck with me.

reply

It was a little too much...funny, but why would the girl not go under water if she was on fire. ?

reply

She was in excruciating pain already and not capable of thinking straight.

Then she was hit with the fire. She was running on instinct only at that point.

That, plus it looked cooler. 😄

reply

That was a good scene but that scene with Cliff making that guy change his tire might be my favorite. So funny!

reply

Oh, I forgot about that.. He whipped the fuck out of that guy..LOL

reply

Yeah, great scene, the entire Spahn Ranch scene was really good. I might have to watch this movie again soon. It's one of my favorite Tarantino films.

reply

It was more random and strange . He didn’t know she was a home intruder there to kill him yet, so why torch her

reply

She was a home intruder nonetheless, therefore, too bad for her

reply

Home intruder firing a gun. So he was defending his home.
