Is it racist to hate this movie?

Now nah nah nah nah nah, I'm not some sensitive sjw just shooting off my mouth. I love white privilege as much as any white guy.

I just notice a level of vitriol on this board against this movie which I don't usually see for a silly horror flick. One fool is spitting and hissing about "Black Privilege". As if.

I truly believe some of the OP's who started the threads on this board just don't like that black people are doing a horror film, not the usual shuck and jive ghetto comedy or crime drama.

whatever ANYONE's perspective, racism is never going to stop. not be cause I don't do my part - I do - but because there will ALWAYS be these backwoods moron racists where it runs in the family.

its exactly the same as LAWS against Crime: Yes, the laws exist, but it's not REMOTELY close to stopping all crime. it never will be, because some people are just human trash, or had shitty parents.

SJWs are just wasting their life time away thinking they can fix the unfixable.

there will ALWAYS be people who don't like blacks, or don't like whites etc. we'll never stop that.

I don't care about color... I care about an entertaining story.
I enjoyed this film's crazy plot - regardless of skin color.

I don't think this movie has anything about black privilege, or white privilege, or whatever. Yes their race is a part of their identity, but to me it doesn't seem like this movie really has any racial commentary, like Get Out did. It's simply a horror that has black leads. And personally I find it refreshing because they're there without having to justify it with a racially based storyline.

But if you didn't like it, fine. I like it a lot but not every movie is for every person and I don't think that makes you a racist.

I have no problem enjoy a movie that might be aimed at a black audience but i'm not watching a movie that is meant to lecture me for my skin color.

reply

I don't feel like this movie had anything to do with race.

You can dislike a movie If you don't like it. It's not racist, sexist, woke, bigoted, intolerant, or whatever label people have.

If you dislike it because it has black people in the film or production, then you may be a racist.

The real question is, did you like or dislike it?

I liked it fine. But I'm looking at all the threads on this board where white people dislike it and mention race.

This was meant to be a horror? Yawn. https://moviechat.org/tt6857112/Us/62e8aa5ab816ef4dd2ee327d/This-was-meant-to-be-a-horror

Racist This is the second movie now where he has black people beating the hell out of and killing annoying white people. https://moviechat.org/tt6857112/Us/5c97386ff95afa64e3082118/Racist
