Might be rotten

The movie must be REALLY bad when some fraction of the woke press had dared to criticize it...

reply

I had the same thought. I figured the film's obvious wokeness would skew the score upward regardless of its actual quality, so to see the green splat was a surprise.

reply

Not good for this kind of movie.

reply

at least the reviews are mostly consistent in the middle field. there's no rave reviews, but no slamming either. the postive reviews are around a 6/10 rating, the negative ones around 4/10. so you now what to expect from the movie.

reply

After seeing the very underwhelming trailers, my expectations for the movie dropped considerably. I was hoping that the return of Cameron (albeit as producer only) and Hamilton would set this ship aright.

But Cameron hasn't been the same since he sold his soul to Avatar, and Hamilton can only do so much. Combine that with the film's obvious excessive wokeness, a miscast Mackenzie Davis, and what seems to be an uninspired narrative, and the end result is one of disappointment.

It's official: Terminator is dead.

reply

without Hamilton it wouldve been horrible

reply

it's 60% now. I am surprised it's not a lot lower. I was expecting around 30%.

reply

68% now. let's see if it can surpass 'rise of the machines'.

reply

It's all bullshit anyway. This was bombing on IMDb and rotten tomatoes yesterday, and suddenly it jumps a significant percentage overnight. I don't buy that, and it's come to light more and more how both of them manipulate the numbers to support whatever narrative they want it too.

reply

"they want it to", not "they want it too"

But yes, I think you're right.

How retro! Good for you for keeping something alive from the past. I thought we'd moved on from correcting spelling mistakes in casual message boards, but evidently some of us are holding on to the nostalgia.

reply

I certainly am.
