shareNope, sadly it's the first one. He really only had like two or three short scenes in the movie. He was mostly wasted. As was the equally fantastic Julianne Moore, who i didn't even know was in this until I watched it.

sharePalm Springs might be cheaper to live in than LA. It’s not nearly as glamorous as LA, so cheaper real estate, fewer expensive meals and restaurants and less of the BS trappings of Hollywood.
I’m kind of curious what tax shelters get used by dual national actors like Oldman. Like film fees get paid to an LLC based in a tax haven nation and the LLC pays Oldman a small salary while covering a lot of his costs, like housing, transportation and so on.
I don't really consider the Palm Springs area where Gary lives "cheap" but it is not as pricey as Beverly Hills or Malibu that's for sure. I'm not familiar with the UK's tax laws but I imagine that he reports his income as an American citizen. Only if he does work in the UK does he probably pay the higher tax rate.
shareI'm sure you can easily buy a house in Palm Springs that would outprice some houses in Beverly Hills, but on average Palm Springs would seem to be less expensive.
I'm sure the tax picture for dual nationals like Oldman is ridiculously complicated but he's probably earning enough that its worth it to get big ticket money managers to help him minimize his tax exposure.
I didn’t even realize that it was him. He’s so fantastic, I can’t believe he played such a milquetoast role. So underused and under acted *sigh*
