FLOPPED, and Hollywood can’t handle it!!!

Strong opening like Aladdin but dismal international profits, something that's usually not the case for other more prominent Disney live remakes, shocker I say, a shocker. Only thing propping it up is domestic profits. They'll need to get Kowalski to watch the movie x10 to own the Rubes. Maybe they'll get the anti-White's (self and apologists) to watch it as a form of reparations.

Flopping like a fish!

I think you're suffering from pre-mature floppage. As long as a film is earning money, it might stay in theaters and continue to earn.

https://www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl1913750273/?ref_=bo_hm_RECENT_WEEKEND_WIDGET_2

Domestic (57%) $186,207,067
International (43%) $140,500,000
Worldwide $326,707,067

It might still be a flop if it doesn't gross about $600 million or more. But it strange that people come out of the woodwork to claim flop so soon after it is released.

reply

Not strange at all, it's called statistical analysis. Predictions of box office success based on opening weekend takes, reinforced with 2nd week takes, are very accurate at predicting an overall tally.

reply

I think that’s because when they compare it to other blockbusters it has grossed lower in comparison at this point

reply

They (and the media) are just going to ignore the film tanking at the box office, and pretend like everyone loved it and the film left everyone awed and stunned about how awesome it was and "proved the haters wrong".

Same tactic they used when the remake of West Side Story ALSO flopped, and they were saying stuff like "OMG, why was Rachel Zegler SNUBBED from an Oscar invite?!" ::GASP!!::

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt. These sneering elitists live in their own little bubble.

reply

The film flopped and some people are in denial. I got no fish in this race.

reply

And apparently it’s the fans fault for not liking what Di$ney is trying to sell us. Wtf kind of backwards ass fuck logic is that?

reply

I'm a leftist, but I really can't stand elitists and idealogues, ESPECIALLY when they're serving corporate interests.

I certainly don't want Hollywood to serve fascist stories, if that's somehow what the public want (and, to be fair, that's akin to the type of films Hollywood made in the past, including Rambo and whatever films John Wayne was headlining), but I also wish it wouldn't self-righteously try to feed the public something it doesn't want, and lecture it after it spits it out. At least offer a bit of variety, and appeal to guaranteed audiences *as well* as making a few agenda-driven films on the side.

Currently WW 414M.

reply

Still needs to make about $600m to break even from what I hear.

reply

"B-But it flopped!!"
Meanwhile in reality its spinoff just got green lit.

Well, at least they got flounder right. I'm all for the animated series, live action no.
