Finally watched it.....

So, i like the very first movie. Not like i watch it alot, but its an ok movie. I even enjoyed Tokyo drift. All the rest suck.

Now to F9. All the insane impractical stuff that happens in each movie cannot even touch F9. Its like they took all the impractical stuff from each previous movie and times that by 3 and threw it into F9. Its a joke. I found myself laughing at it. Not the comical parts, the supposedly action parts.

I only watch the movies because ive seen them all, i might as well keep watching. Plus I can't say how ridiculous a movie is unless i watch it.

i think the original was a very good film. i liked tokyo drift too. i can't remember much about any of the rest. i think i quit with number 5 or 6.

they took what was a cool, stylish original film and kept tweaking it until it's almost like a cartoon'ish version of the original.

plus, when paul walker died, that should've ended everything for sure. these new ones are just the studio trying to make more money IMO

reply

F1 very good? I can't put it that high. But its good and I've seen several times. F5 and on I've seen once only.

I thought they took each movie since F3 and just kept adding over the top stuff each & every sequel to follow. More than it being cartoonish.

And the studio had made monster bucks since paul walker passed. But they needed to stop after F4 imho

reply

4 was the last pure sequel to the original, I agree👍 2 & 3 were like filler movies in between but I liked Tokyo drift too. I'd have been happy had they stopped with 4 but it became a franchise with 5 and Rock joining and that's when the action got outrageous with each movie like you said but I felt 6,7,8 got progressively better from 5 until 9 landed with an outrageous thud. I can only rank it above the second film.

reply

I've thought they got progressively worse from 5 on.

Now about #2. By far the storyline of 2 is horrible. Worst than any other in series. I will say that. But from 5 on the action in movies have gotten so bad your laughing at the implausible bull crap they are trying to sell as entertaining. Anyone that thinks thats entertaining should be evaluated. The action in 5 & on is far worse than the action in the second one.

Except for when Dom jumps from tower to tower in that supercar in Furious 7, I thought the other action scenes were pretty much grounded in reality. Nothing certainly from F9 was so over the top. Maybe Dom catching Letty when he jumped off the bridge in the 6th movie could be considered borderline over the top?

reply

Id have to watch the movies to give every "bs" thing ive seen. But just off top of the head.

1. Tanks do go pretty fast now days, but they still ain't keeping up with a car.

2. Dom catching Letty smacking back into a windshield and walked away with zero pain. (I honestly don't think you'd walk away, but I can't be sure on that part, but you'd certainly be sore).

3. 2 cars dragging a huge vault down the road. They would even move it. (Yes i know they had wheels under it to shoot the scene and it wasn't a actual vault. But even with wheels under a actual vault, you weren't sliding it side to side and around corners, once it got going off course it would drag the cars that way, not cars drag it).

4. The going through skyscraper and from one to another is a joke. Could you set it up to be plausible yes, but could you in real time know how fast, where to aim, etc. Thats a hard NO

5. Super cars on ice getting around like nothing. No No No

Theres alot more. But its been years since ive watched them. Once is enough.

They went berserk on stupid. I honestly loved these movies. Big dumb fun. Everything a Hollywood blockbuster should be. But then they became cartoons. And WORSE. They got hyper serious. The FUN quotient got chucked in the bin. So they tried to combine grimdark with cartoonery and it's a total laughable mess. This is the true loss of Paul Walker. He took the piss out of a situation just by showing up. He made everything grounded and laid back. He was us, the viewer. They have not replicated that again.

reply

Why didn't you stop after the 4th or 5th one..or even the 6th, 7th or 8th one?!!! YOU people are the WORSE! You continue to watch something you CLEARLY don't like, then go on the internet to bash it..just sad.

reply

Maybe I didn't explain this, but my reason to watch movies is i will not make comments on something I haven't seen. Even if im rather sure the next one will suck, I can't comment or discuss it with people that have unless i watched it.

And are you telling me that in your whole life you haven't done anything you knew you wouldn't like? And then complain about it afterward? Idk if i ever met someone that can say No to that.

Are you saying you watched this movie - sure in the knowledge that it would "suck" - purely so you discuss how much this movie sucked?!! 🫤

reply

Pretty much yup. Plus ive already seen 8, whats 1 more. Been using that thought since #6.

reply

I stopped watching after part 3.

reply

I don't blame ya.
