Frank Cosgrove was dumb as fuck

Came in threatening Darlene, then let her walk to another room where shes CLEARLY grabbing a gun, and stood there like a dumb ass and got shot. This is the same crazy bitch that shot your sons dick off, you know shes fucking nuts, yet you come in unarmed and threaten her and allow her to go to another room to get something.

This guy was supposed to be a smart mob boss? yet this elderly fucking woman took him out....

reply

Yeah, that seemed pretty forced. I guess we were to think it would lead to her death (and it almost did), only to have the Javi swerve later.

reply

It was just dumb as fuck, Frank always seemed like a smart intimidating guy, and they just made his character look like a complete dumb ass. The fact that he allowed her to get away with shooting his sons dick off is ridiculous anyways, how fucking weak does that make you look that you let this elderly woman handicap your son and take away his manhood and you do nothing about it.

Then he just strolls in to Darlene's house, unarmed, yelling, threatening her life, and stands there rambling while he allows her to walk to another room again CLEARLY grabbing a gun, and waits around to be shot dead.

Darlene got away with far more than she should have. Even back in the first season, she killed a Cartel boss which should have been an instant death sentence.

reply

Yeah killing Del should've been her deaths sentence, but for some reason killing one of their farm grunts was somehow good enough for the cartel, she killed a fucking cartel boss, and instead of demanding she die or her husband die they're satisfied with one of her nameless grunts being killed.

Thats like saying in terms of dogs that you accidentally kill an expensive rare dog breed and you give the owners in exchange a stray mutt you found on the road.

reply

Never underestimate human stupidity or the hubris of people who have been too powerful for too long.

After decades as a mob boss, he probably saw himself as untouchable.

That happens in real life.

reply

This bothered me too. At the very least he would have had a few guys with him. Or just sent a crew with the message.

I’m hoping that some industrious young memester out there creates a re-edit of this scene:
Frank is yelling at Darlene.
Darlene walks away toward that other room; but instead of coming back with a shotgun, we cut to her waking out of the house.
We intercut between Frank and Darlene, as she walks away from the house and off to town, while Frank continues to stand in her empty living room, yelling at nothing but air.
Weeks (or days) later, Wyatt and Darlene, now newlyweds, return home from their wedding, enter the house, and Frank is still there, bellowing at the spot where Darlene stood during that first scene.
And… they all just live together like that. Psychotically ever after.
The End.

To be honest this sort of thing has kind of been a problem throughout the show. I mean how many times have people just casually strolled onto the Byrde's property to threaten or endanger them in some way? You'd think they'd have some sort of basic security system setup that any moderately affluent family would have (Let alone a family that working for a Mexican drug cartel) but nope. The mid season finally features Ruth driving to the Bryde's property and walking right into their unlocked home waving a shotgun at everyone.

reply

The whole 4th season sucks. It's GoT all over again.

reply

The fact that Darlene let's people stroll in and doesn't have any security is pretty dumb.

I never thought Cosgrove was smart, though.
