Let's start a list of successful female action movies that Elizabeth forgot about when blaming sexism...

...and then someone can compile them and send them to her. I'm sure she'd welcome the opportunity to grow as a person and admit her mistake. I'll start:

First 2 Charlie's Angel's
All 4 hunger games movies
Terminator 1 2 and 3
Tomb Raider
Kill bill 1 and 2
maleficent
Wonder Woman
Captain Marvel
Oceans 8
Underworld
Resident evil
The Aliens movies
Salt
Force awakens
Rogue 1
Last Jedi

I have no doubt there are many, many more.

reply

Salt is one the best movies I’ve seen in theaters.

Anyway Tomb Raider is another movie.

reply

Night of the Comet ( no idea if it made money but a classic anyway)

reply

Last movie I expected to see brought up. It does indeed rule, though!!!

reply

Bumblebee (2018)
Wanted (2008)
La Femme Nikita (1990)
Point of No Return (1993)
Panic Room (2002)
Tank Girl (1995)
Coffy (1973)
Foxy Brown (1974)
Jackie Brown (1997)
V for Vendetta (2005)
G.I. Jane (1997)
The Professional (1994)
Alita: Battle Angel (2019)

reply

Æon Flux
Supergirl (the Helen Slater film)
Sister Street Fighter

The second 2 probably weren't "successful" per se, but they were female led action films.

reply

maybe some these been mentioned already:

Thelma/Louise?

The long kiss goodnight

Quick and the Dead (Sharon stone)

Flightplan

Ghost in Shell

Bad Girls

Barb Wire

Turbulence (female Die Hard)

Red Sonja

AvPs

Blue Steel (Jamie Lee Curtis)

reply

To be fair, a lot of those were not successful.

reply

I cut my list down to name only the successful ones. For example, The Quick and the Dead was not a success so it didn't make my list.

reply

Big Sky (1952)
Bonnie and Clyde (1967)
Big Bad Mama (1974)
The Arena (1974)

reply

Surprised Hanna or Leon weren't mentioned.

reply

I just watched Alita: Battle Angel and enjoyed it a lot.

Written by James Cameron so make of that what you will.
