Not sure how they can top Season 3.

It was by far the best of the 3. All the kids will be old and out of high school by the time filming starts again. I suppose they can do a 1990-esque style season.

reply

I'm the complete opposite. Season 3 is such a low bar to top thanks to the character work.

reply

You can't be serious! An entire Soviet UNDERGROUND BASE buried right under the kids' hometown like that without anyone suspecting anything!?!

reply

its just a tv show...and there is no superman...

reply

Yeah, I think Season 1 was the best and 2 a close second.

Season 3 felt like they pumped everything up to 11, and there was a lot to love, don't get me wrong, but topping it seems like it'd get silly or tedious, and because they pulled out all the stops with 3, it seems like it'd be hard to even follow it up.

I loved the Dustin-Steve pairing, which was a lot of fun in Season 2. They have a great "buddy cop" vibe that I think really works. I liked Robin, too. That trio was great. Erica, unfortunately, was just grating.

There are dangling plot threads I'd like to see tied up. Stuff with Hopper, 11's powers, etc., but overall I think they could probably sew those threads up fast.

The problem is that they seem to be headed for even bigger rifts and more of them, more global stuff, and the problem with escalating it to global/inter-dimensional war is that either the main cast become shoehorned in or obsolete because most of them would be useless on that scale. Maybe as consultants? But why would the armies and governments of the world listen to a handful of teenagers and backwater cops until it was too late?

Bottom line, I don't think S4 will work terribly well, but I hope we get some closure.

reply

Season 3 was the worst to me. I'm expecting s4 to be the worst yet. They took too long and the kids are like 35 now. It will almost be 3 years from season 3 to seasons 4s release. I hope they wrote season 5 during this downtime with covid and plan on shooting it asap. Probably needs to end with 5.

reply

it prob ends in season 4, they will all be too old for a season 5 I think.

reply

Why do you think it's necessary for them to be kids?

reply

its a part of the charm of the show.

reply

Season 3 is more of a propaganda fest, once TV shows went well it usually started to get laced with propaganda, but to this extend is still kind of surprising. Season 4 I think is going even further.

reply

propaganda? its just a tv show.

reply

Where do you think they put propaganda?

reply

they didnt. it was the 80's.

reply

In US brainwashing and propaganda are everywhere, what do you think pledge of allegiance is?

If you are an American I totally get it, you must have been brainwashed to a point you can't tell what is propaganda even it hits you in the face.

reply

every Country has some sort of pledge or creed. are u in the UK?

I can enjoy a show and not be brainwashed. its just a silly show about kids fighting smoke monsters.

it would be like saying Seinfeld is propaganda.

reply

No, I am Australian, and no, as far as I know only US has pledge of allegiance and daily pledge in schools.

reply

from Quora:

We used to do it weekly at assembly in a Melbourne primary school in the late 60′s:

“I love God and my country. I'll honour the flag, serve the Queen, and cheerfully obey my parents, teachers, and the law"

This was accompanied by the National Anthem (God save the Queen), and saluting the flag.

When my kids were in primary school they had a different version, and I think it was used less often. I don't remember the words, as I didn't have to recite it weekly, but it included (started with, I think) “I am a child of Australia. This land is my home” and I don't believe there was any reference to the Queen.

When I went to primary school in the 1990s, we had a sort of pledge to say on what I think was a weekly (rather than a daily) basis. If I remember rightly, it ran “I love this land of Australian birth, and the great virtues of truth, freedom, and justice for which it stands. I will strive to be a credit to these ideals, and I will strive to be a credit to my country, my family, and my school. God save the Queen.”

reply

Maybe in 60s, maybe in some schools, but no, by and large Australian schools do not do pledges.

reply

we dont either, or prayers. that was stopped years ago because some people were offended.

reply

Then I guess you are not American.

reply

I am, we used to many years ago and they used to pray before football games but that stopped many years ago too.

reply

We were talking about pledges, not prayers.

You think religion is propaganda, but not season 3 of this show? Like I said before you can't tell propaganda even it hits you in the face.

reply

you sound like an American, I assume you voted for dementia Joe because you are not able to follow a simple conversation. when does BBB start?

reply

I was going to ignore you, but just to show how stupid you are: https://moviechat.org/nm1907769/Elon-Musk/6285658dcab44414a23364e9/He-better-not-buy-Twitter-bad-move?reply=6285ac1bcab44414a23367e6

reply

I was trying to have a civil conversation but as always thats not possible on the internet anymore. everyone always has to insult people, I guess it makes you feel better about yourself? enjoy your inflation and mass murders.

So you think accusing me of lying is not an insult? Don't dish it out if you can't take it.

I was going to ignore you, but just to show how stupid you are:

the insults started 3 hours ago. I was trying to be civil, but like I said, thats not possible on the internet and now your feelings are hurt. enjoy your kangaroo propaganda.

reply

"kangaroo propaganda"?

My opinions are mine alone, not of Australia, but I guess you are a bigot, most of conservatives are.

reply

my opinions are mine as well. Like I said before you can't tell propaganda even it hits you in the face.

reply

No, your opinions are more of a run of the mill conservative, that is clear from using the words like "dementia Joe".

Just to be clear here I am neither a liberal nor a conservative. I consider both are media created polarization, results of media brainwashing.

And no, I am not a moderate. When your thoughts fit in a media created pattern your thoughts most likely are not of your own.

What you considered as insults before, no, those were not insults, just my opinions offended you. Being insulted and feeling offended are 2 different things.

And at least in US most conservatives still support Trump, who was a known bigot calling Africa "shit hole countries". So when I say most of conservatives are bigots, that is not even an opinion, more of a fact.

Also I don't know why you are copying my words, but I guess that empty head of yours only have injected thoughts.

reply

Its possible you are not understanding what I am saying. I assume English is not your first language, if it isn't then I apologize. I know there are classes for adults that can help you learn and understand English. As there are many nuances to the language. Like you have read and read, both are pronounced differently. Read and read are two words that are spelled identically but are pronounced differently and have different meanings, which makes them heteronyms. These word pairs are often misused words. I think you might be misusing words that you don't fully understand. You might be from a Communist country and never took any classes on how it works. I am sorry that you were repressed in that Country and hopefully you can learn English and Economics in America, again, if English is not your first language then I apologize. I was lucky enough to have a great education and be part of Mensa and go to Harvard. Its my job to analyze and psychoanalyze subjects like yourself. You seem to be having some sort of breakdown. Come to Harvard and ask for JoWilli and I can help you. Can you please answer the original question though? I am interested in your feedback. You responses will be anonymous. Thanks for your time regarding this matter.

reply

Whatever makes you feel better about yourself is OK with me.

reply

I apologize if you are easily offended, What you considered as insults before, no, those were not insults, just my opinions offended you. Being insulted and feeling offended are 2 different things.

Your opinions are more liberal than anything. And liberals support Biden who is a huge bigot who said to black people, and I quote: "rub my hairy legs". That is a fact.

You have no freedoms in Kangaroo Land which is why you lash out at Americans, at least we still have a 2nd Amendment.

These are facts and opinions and you wouldn't understand them anyways.

I will be enjoying S4 of Stranger Things, because there is NO propaganda in that show.

reply

this didnt age very well.

epic prawnage

reply

Yeah I definitely agree that the writers hopefully wrote more during the downtime, that sure would’ve been a good opportunity to do it. If they haven’t then we are in for a long wait again!

reply

The seasons have got worse and more uninteresting as they've gone along. Perhaps it's just me and I'm bored of seeing the same stuff 2 seasons on. I mean how many times do we have to keep seeing El using her powers and getting a nose bleed afterwards?

reply

Season 3 was nonsense

reply

Better than season 4.

reply

Actually season 4 did top 3 in my opinion at least.. I think that season 5 may go into the 90's..
