Where are all the black characters?

Recent films/series depicting the middle ages shows a lot of people in nobility were coloured folk ... But that didn't seem to be the case with this film?

Is it a racist whitewashing of revisionist history?

reply

lol
It's a sure sign the casting director has a white people fetish!

I remember there were dozens of idiots who wanted to teach us that medieval Europe was literally bursting with so so so very important POCs... And now? Are these "progressives" suffering from their booster shots? Let's hope...

Go woke, go broke.

I’m black and couldn’t give two fucks about your complaint. Give me a good story and keep me entertained. That’s what movies are for. Your just someone that thinks just because they have the option to type something on a forum they should. Guess what. You shouldn’t.

reply

If you're happy to have history revised then fine. I dont get why we cant have history AND decent storytelling but sure....

reply

Cos it’s a fucking movie. It’s not a documentary. Go watch the history channel if your so hell bent on your woke mentality.

reply

Im sorry but if they are going to try and base a movie on a historical event then I'm not going to be able to suspend disbelief enough if they aren't up to speed with current versions of history.

You think it's in any way reflective of reality to portray midieval europe as predominantly white?

reply

🤣

reply

Obviously this is trolling….”current version of history”

reply

Which characters did you expect to be non-white? I'm asking you to give us a history lesson, right now.

reply

I've watched loads of historically based shows on Netflix and they all tell me that medieval times were very diverse, which is why I'm outraged at how this show was even made.

You think it's in any way reflective of reality to portray midieval europe as predominantly white?

reply

Not at all. I understand that the movement of armies and other groups of people contributed to the racial diversity of Europe in the middle ages and earlier. I'm asking that you tell me exactly which characters in this film you expected to be non-white.

I understand that various film producers like to whitewash their products, to the detriment of historical accuracy. But you made a specific accusation here and I'd like you to back it up.

If you go to the IMDB link, there is a list of characters; which of those were white and which were non-white in your opinion.

reply

Clearly any and potentially even ALL characters could be non-white.

reply

So you have nothing then.

reply

I don't think many people on here are taking your troll bait. Better come up with a new strategy.
