yikes

It could be a negotiating tactic. If there is a social media backlash about him leaving the series then it might put pressure on Paramount to pay him the money he wants.

reply

Can’t watch this show without him. Sorry

reply

it's the final season

This line looks odd though 'The final six episodes of Yellowstone are currently in production and will air in November.'

If he quit, how are they producing it?

reply

Sounds like he gave them 101 chances to sort their crap out. If I were Matt McConaghey i'd stay the hell away from it.

reply

They need to get Josh Lucas to play present-day John Dutton. We're already used to seeing him as a mid-30's JD in flashbacks.

reply

If he really leaves, and its not a negotiation tactic, they should really end the show at the end of Season 5, he is Yellowstone, or else you get the same crap like The Walking Dead where the main character is killed off and every season becomes worse and worse. Same thing happened to Vikings when Ragnar was killed off.

reply

season 5 has already been announced as being the final season

read the article -

"Yellowstone is currently in its fifth and final season"

I think there's the suggestion that Costner will not partake in shooting the 2nd half of the 5th season.

Too bad, so sad; saw this coming ages ago. Just wrap up the other plot points in the last six episodes and call it a very good, close to great series, that frankly could have easily wrapped it up in four seasons, or 5 1/2 to stretch it out more.
