For how much longer do you guys think we will have Thor and Hulk in the MCU

Tony and Steve left in EndGame, Black Widow and Hawkeye will say goodbye in their respective individual film or series.

But the staying of Thor and Hulk seems undefined like there is is still a long time for them. niether Chris Hemsworth or Mark Rufallo have intentions to leave the franchise if it was for them it’s like like they could stay until they look inadequate for this roles.

It feels like they can stay another decade.

Personally I’m starting to think it will go that way. Maybe they will get their best moment of the franchise in 10 years and it’s they will leave.

reply

Thor I sure is in Guardians 3. I think Hulk is gone though.

reply

Ruffalo has oen more film under his original contract. Not sure if he'll be renewing or not.

reply

I’m betting the two of them will remain in the MCU for at least another 5-6 years. (Another decade? I don’t see that as an unlikely thing myself, to be honest.) I would’ve hesitated to say that about Ruffalo a few months back, but now it appears that he - along with Hemsworth - is indeed planning on staying around in the MCU. In fact, he’s already having discussions with Feige (pitching stories to him to be exact) about Hulk’s future in the MCU, so that’s great to know.

Come what may, all I know is both actors should stay for as long as they desire. After all, their characters are in more interesting places than ever before.

Yees it’s like they are just really getting started. Maybe they will appear in Avengers 5 ?

So the franchise won’t feel too much like they lost their most popular. Smart of Faige on how he is managing his actors going in this franchise. He is working with this as if it was Greys Anatomy or ER.

Series which started with one cast and once they left, they got new people filling Those spots. But the original cast didn’t leave all together they left every 5 years one or two cast members till the end we had a whole different cast which no one noticed till maybe 20 years latter.

This is how Faige is working out with this.

Thor is going to be in Guardians of the Galaxy. Not sure about Hulk. They may do 2 more films with Mark as Hulk because the other Hulk films featured other actors. Mark didn't take over the role until the first Avengers movie if I'm not mistaken. Thor, Cap and Tony all had 3 films so that's why Cap and Tony left in Endgame and Thor joined the Guardians of the Galaxy.

reply

Well Thor, Cap and Tony were considered for some time the three main Avengers and well with Hulk they have contract with universal that they can’t use Hulk in a solo movie so I guess he will appear in two more films of other heroes.

reply

I figured as much with Hulk because Mark has never had a solo movie as The Hulk. He'll probably end up with the Guardians too or be with Sam and Bucky in another Captain America movie.

reply

Yes, Hulk might get big parts in other hero movies like he did in Thor Ragnarock maybe he has a surprise appearance in love and Thunder.

Anyway have you realized how Mark and Chris have gotten closer since Ragnarock, in an interview with the original 6 for endgame. Mark sat besides Chris Hemsworth and well Chris a few put his around Mark.

It’s really nice how the original 6 seem to be really close to each other.

reply

Yes that what I loved about the original 6, their closeness. I'm really going to miss that with the newer films now that Cap and Tony are gone.

reply

Yes the original team will always be the best to us the generation who grew up with and maybe some of the future generations as well.

Or maybe not.

I have the hopes this will be like James Bond a franchise that stays strong for 50 years or more and each generation will have a different favorite team of the Avengers.

For us who started with original 6 the best will always be Tony, Steve, Thor, Hulk,Clint and Natasha.

But latter generation might like better newer characters.

Or maybe in 20 years will be introduced to new actors portraying the original 6 and the newer fans will like better the newer actors with some saying the classics are always the best like with Bond most prefer the Bond they grew up with but there some new fans who still say Sean Connery or Roger Moore are the best.

I hope Ruffalo stays long enough for Hulk to be in a Solo Wolverine movie. They should adapt Wolverine's first comic he appeared in but have most of the focus on Wolverine. Where he's hired by Canadian Government officials who want Hulk dead cause they think he's a threat to peoples' lives. I know that doesn't go along with End Game but you could have it turn out in one of the next movies Hulk is in that he lost control again. Which leads to him escaping illegally into Canada. Which is why the Canadian officials feel they have to stop him. But then they don't tell Wolverine that Banner is Hulk and Wolverine decides not to kill Hulk after getting knocked out then and waking up to find Banner in the pants of the Hulk.

He realizes now that Banner is the Hulk and therefore thinks it is wrong to kill him. So he just leaves there and never goes back to Canada. Then the movie ends with the Canadian officials talking about how Wolverine has to be captured for betraying them. This could lead to him being a supporting character in a future X-Men movie. Maybe Professor X finds him using Cerebro and part of the movie is about trying to recruit him for the X-Men. But to not have Wolverine be the main focus they could just have him decline the offer to join the X-Men cause he feels he doesn't want to be part of a group. Then the rest of the movie can be about fighting against the Morlocks or some other villain.

I wouldn't mind seeing more movies with them. But won't be surprised if they are only in a few more movies. Also because of the fact I'd been reading them since Avengers 2 came out, I want to talk about the Avengers comics. It might surprise some on here who don't read comics to know that Hulk was actually not an Avenger for very long in the original comics. He was in the first 2 issues of the original book and then left at the end of the 2nd issue after having a disagreement with the other Avengers. Another fun fact the reason he was in the very first Avengers comic is cause his solo series was cancelled after 6 issues because of low sales. But they didn't want to get rid of the character and his cast so they put him in the first 2 Avengers issues and then put him in a book called Tales to Astonish.

Also in issue 17 of the original Avengers comics, Thor and Iron Man leave the team and only a few issues after that Ant Man and Wasp leave too. It then only consisted of Captain America, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver. A few years after that Captain America left the team along with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver and then for a while it consisted of only Black Panther, Giant Man/Hawkeye, Vision, Yellow Jacket (Hank Pym), and Wasp. I don't know why I just wanted to share that with people.

reply

Great information really.
This so cool now how the original team changed and changed really fast. I thought it took more than 17 issues for Iron Man to leave the team.

But unlike the MCU and their barrier with contracts they brought him back without trouble.

reply

I don't think Thor is going anywhere. Thor is their new safety net with Iron Man gone. If the box office turns grim, they got old trusty Hemsworth to bail them out.
