Anyone done with the MCU after this???(possible spoilers)

....I am. There is really nothing they could do that would really interest me except maybe show Galactus. Plus with the load of unresolved continuity issues with this film everything just feels a mess. (a big reason I stopped reading comics years ago, I was hoping the movies would be spared this)

reply

Honestly I'm down for a break but I know it won't be long until they pull me back in.

reply

I barely had the will to see this one. I just went because the actors were saying, don't spoil it for people.(which basically confirmed for me one character that was gonna die..lol)

reply

I definitely want to see the Black Widow film, not so sure about Spiderman. But I expect they'll find some way to hook us back in.

reply

Not I.

The MCU was built on characters and there are more than enough existing and new characters that I am interested in. Judging by how the attendance to Marvel films has grown there are new fans interested in new characters also which intrigues me along with the commiserate new stories.

In some ways it mirrors the canon print itself. The Avengers roster was constantly changing and growing and spinning off new variations. I too like you stopped reading comic books at a time in my life but my interest in them never waned just my priorities.

reply

Yeah my priorities as well. But also story. With all the universe restarts/merges etc the stories have gotten confusing over the years. Marvel used to be very good at keeping things kinda straight. Than they just did too many comics. (like 70 In continuity titles at one point and like 5 of those starring Spiderman) They streamlined for a bit but are overdoing it again it would seem.

If this was the finale of the MCU as a whole, I would be satisfied. That being said I'm still on board with whatever they have to offer. I'm invested in some of these newer characters already and with the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four, there's even more to be excited about. Sure not all the films in the franchise are amazing, but this far I haven't been completely let down.

reply

The MCU hasn't let me down and none of the titles of the MCU has been a disappointment to me personally. The movies outside of the MCU are another story all together.

The Ghost Rider films were underwhelming but NOT part of the MCU.
The 1st Fox Fantastic Four I enjoyed and even the Rise of the Silver Surfer had it's moments. Fan4Tastic I did not watch n theaters. All of the Sony Spider-Man films are fine.

My point? I am interested in the continuing adventures of most Marvel Characters which means I am always tuned into Marvel and their related properties. I enjoyed Netflix Daredevil, Jessica Jones and the Defenders and a bit, a tiny bit was the linkage to the larger MCU.

And as you stated Endgame was not the finale for the MCU but just this iteration of the Avengers.

reply

so you are done with the MCU after Endgame? but what about Spider-Man far form home?

reply

Probably not. At least it won't be a priority for me to see. I'm getting a bit bored with the whole superhero thing...

Sux 4 u, I’m just gettin started
