What was the point of this movie again?

Last year we got Black Panther a few months before Infinity War, and it introduced characters and locations that would be important in that movie.

This movie introduced a character that had three minutes of screen time in Endgame. I thought she was going to be a major character and play an important role, but she was barely in the movie at all, so what was the point?

WW was a successful movie so they fast tracked their own superhero.

Not sure that means it had no point. As someone who, to be completely frank, isn't all that interested in Endgame (horrifying, I know), I don't really see why it can't exist on its own as it's own thing.

It's because the lead is female. Literally the only reason.

It's her origin story. She didn't have big role in Endgame but at least they didn't have to waste time explaining who she was.

What's the point of Blade? Kick-Ass? Casablanca? The Punisher? Unforgiven? Aquaman? The upcoming Joker movie?

I think Captain marvel had 15 minutes of screen time in Endgame.
