Has there have been a more boring villain than Kylo fucking Ren?

reply

It's great. Really looking forward to that epic fight between Rey and Kylo. At this point anyone can win. 🧔

Shill.

reply

Yeah chilling, dude! And looking forward to this epic and totally unpredictable fight of our two charismatic antagonists 🙋‍♂️

reply

You sound sarcastic. Were you like that in the first post?

Bo Shuda!

That's actually a great point. The new trilogy has really put us off-guard in terms of who's good, who's bad, and how will it end. The original trilogy, for all its strengths, was very straight-forward when it came to the good guys vs. the bad guys. Even once they retconned Darth Vader as Luke's father, it became clear that Luke was going to redeem him, and we knew how it would end; all the fun was in getting there. I am not denigrating the original films at all-- many, in fact most, action films follow a formula of good guy vs. bad guy / good guy redeems bad guy, and it works. I'm merely pointing out that it just occurred to me that the new trilogy has done a great job building upon the framework set forth by the originals, and we really don't know where this is going or how it will end.

The poster made me go watch this Star Wars after not seeing previous two films, not really interested ever watching those. I generally love watching films that are sequels by avoiding the previous films anyway, it can nicely train the psychic senses.

Looks like the cover of a video game.

It's way too hyper digital looking. And i'm super tired of the motif of looming hooded figure in the background.

It looks like a cartoon poster, and especially Palpatine looks like a cartoon character.

Crappy looking poster for a most likely crappy movie. Great fit if you ask me.

Didn't bother me that much. It's just the first poster. With the full trailer coming up, there will be a new poster.

With all the potential pitfalls this movie could have, this poster is at the very bottom of my concerns list.
