Have you noticed just how female-centric it is?

When you break it down, you have Rey as the main hero of the thing, you have new hero character Rose introduced, you have Leia of course who seems to now be the most powerful Jedi in history by coming back from the dead and becoming Supergirl, you have the empowering Holdo who sacrifices herself for the sake of the Force, you have the woman speaker who introduced her, and indeed many of the people in the control deck on that ship, you have Rose's sister who had the very brave scene where she drops the bombs, you have the CGI orange thing that tells them where Benicio is, and you have Captain Phasma who gets another bite at the cherry after the first episode. Even the little nurse caretaker creatures on Luke's island are female.

Is it just me or do you think they were trying to make a point? LOL

Then you have Luke Skywalker, Kylo Ren, Poe Dameron, Finn, DJ, Hux, Snoke...

Stop being a fag LOL

The OP meant that the females are more powerful than the male characters.

Rey beat Luke and had to lecture him about being a better Jedi like her even though she only knew the religion for a few days.

Leia slaps Poe around and Holdo yells at him and gives him a dressing down after he asks a legitimate question.

Cowardly former stormtrooper Finn had to be lectured and made to stand up for what's right by Rose. BTW, Finn wasn't an enlisted soldier in the rebellion so he should be able to leave if he wants.

It was female-centric but so was Wonder Woman. Bad script vs. good script.

I didn't get the impression Rey beat Luke so much as Luke stumbled as he backed away from her lightsabre. For all the shit they do to Luke, he was slapping her around with a stick and not even using the Force to do it.

reply

Granted that he stumbled back after she attained a lightsaber which startled him. He stepped back in fear or to protect himself, but in that moment he still lost control and fell. I still consider that a win by her.

Fair enough.

absolutely..... Kathleen k is behind, and she will get an oscar for this crap as well

unfucking believable 😂 no wonder noone watches the joke oscars anymore

reply

Tom8, I think this Oscar is for everything she's achieved in popular movies over the last few decades. Yes, she's lost her marbles for the last few movies she's produced, but you can't deny what she did before, even if it's not as much work as people think.

reply

Did she ride on the coattails of others who are more talented like Spielberg? I tried to research what she did on her own and it wasn't impressive. There were a few unforgettable movies she produced with her husband.

Rian Johnson got on his knees and deepthroated fourth-wave feminism for this one

I think there are too many males, bring on more females
