Liked Frozen, hated Brave.
Enjoyed Tangled more than Frozen, but it's tough to argue with the results. Frozen obviously struck a chord with its target demographic, which is young girls. It's a massive hit in that regard, and if you're not in that target demographic, you're obviously missing the point if you say it's not 'particularly good.' (And you don't have a daughter, and had to put up with them singing the damn song over and over and over.)
I went into Brave expecting an epic story, based on previous Pixar movies. First half hour was great, setting us up for Merida's adventure. Then it went off the rails, transforming from an epic adventure movie into a small story about her mother turning into a bear. Of course, I'm not in the target demographic for that movie either, but from the results, it looks like the movie wasn't much of a success with that group either. Compared to what Disney has done with Frozen, Brave has been ignored in terms of any additional promotion and follow-up.
