What I Hate About This Game.

Overpowered and ever present police.

They can chase you around endlessy like flies to shit simply for standing next to them too long or by firing a weapon in almost any location. Unlike previous installments of the franchise, there is little to no opportunity to run amok for longer than a minute.

Lack of side missions.

Once the one player story mode is over there's little replay value. There are no taxi or vigilante missions or any variety of side missions. There is not much in the way of treasure hunting which gives little incentive to explore the map - a large part of the map consisting of pretty but largely useless countryside.

The On Line Mode.

Again the cops - where you spend about 70% of your time outrunning them.

Stupid On Line Players.

On Line players just love to try and kill while you're going around on a task or are simply minding your business. Many happen to be trolls using cheats that make them ridiculously overpowered.

Hard to Make Money and Repetitive Missions.

Arduous missions, where you sometimes have to rely on clueless on line players to help you, offer little reward. I would assume that this is to motivate players to buy on line currency. Many missions themselves consist of traveling from point A to B on the map.

I don't completely hate this game but these aforementioned issues have severely limited my enjoyment of it.

The missions didn't feel quite as repetitive as in the previous GTA.

My gripe is that it has no online free roam, the best thing about GTA IV is you can play online with friendly fire off, for that reason alone the game is superior. Being free to explore the open map is what gives it atmosphere, whilst in GTA V online you're constantly killed by higher ranking players without the option to check out the world in a swat van with other players. The game developers put so much effort into the background element, you'd think a free roam option would be available.

I think there's an option in one of the pause screens where you can enter the online map on your own. Also, there's a passive mode option where no other online players can shoot you. Doesn't work when you're inside a vehicle though which is pretty fucking dumb.

This game is flawed to the core. One of the worst examples of 'one step forward, two steps back' in the history of the medium. IV will always be the masterpiece of the series.

Less to do though. Isn't that a problem?

gta 4 was ok but nothing compared to gta san andreas. 3 cities in one map. that was the best gta ever made period.

reply

San Andreas was great up until that remote control aeroplane mission. What the fuck was up with that? I stopped playing it after that and never went back. Never!

Anything to do with fucking planes in GTA SA is an absolute nightmare.

reply

that mission was not even required to advance the storyline

reply

I think gta London was the best.
