Does Black Mirror get better after the first episode?

Heard decent things but that was one of the worst and unintentionally hilarious pilot episodes I've ever seen across any medium or time. Still laughing. Please convince me that it gets significantly better.

It does. I almost gave up as well. Lol But each episode is a different story and it's hit or miss. My favorite so far is San Junipero. You don't have to watch in order. They are all unrelated stories...

Yes.

It gets a lot better.

Yes, but laughing at the absurdity of some of the situations is part of the appeal in some episodes...

There is a lot of tragedy in the anthology, but also some bittersweat moments and some humour.. but mostly absurd tragedy ;)

I owed it to you all to bump this and say I absolutely love the show. 5 stars. San Junipero is probably my favorite so far.

I've only seen the pilot so far, but I already like it a lot.

I do take issue with one thing you said in your topic, though: "that was one of the worst and unintentionally hilarious pilot episodes"

I don't think any of it was unintentionally hilarious, I found it very intentional. I think the utter absurdity was completely the point.

I really liked White Bear, The Entire History of You, 15 Million Credits, San Junipero and Hated in the Nation. The only episode I didn't really like when I first watched it was The Waldo Moment, but now with the reality of the world's politics, it doesn't seem as stupid. But with each episode being different, one might appeal to you more than others.

I gave up on Episode 2 also - I may never get back to this series.

I loved the first episode. Thought it was one of the most audacious things I'd ever seen. Didn't like how the guys wife turned her back on him afterwards, though, because he did, or thought he was doing a noble thing, and was pretty much forced to under pressure.
