They would be like any other Batman movie except they would have a few more drops of blood and curse words in them. Maybe a female nipple as well.

shareI agree that TDK at times felt like an R rated movie. However, "the most mature and thought provoking superhero film," most probably goes to the Watchmen.
TDK Rises is a movie that I do personally enjoy, and if it was a stand alone movie I would rate it much higher, but as part of the trilogy? C'mon man it was kinda trash.
Not so much TDKR but definitely the Dark Knight which I'd say is more intense than a lot of recent R rated movies I've seen. And that is where having a good director at the helm is key. Matt Reeves' last two PotA movies were both pretty brutal for a PG13.
shareBB and TDK would definitely benefit from an R rating. Maybe they could replace the idiotic parts with more badassery and truly elevate these two decent movies to a level better suited to the character. They are close.
Funny to think about the first 4 movies being R. Very funny. There's no saving them, though. Crap.
Never mind about TDKR. R or not, I'd still wipe my ass with it.
