Ana De Armas' performance is what truly matters here
And she delivers a fine performance for sure. Everything else about the movie is not that important honestly. She will absolutely get that Oscar nom.

Her bravery in taking this role with all this adverse publicity and her studying the way MM talked for over a year - and delivering this spectacular performance - but there is Cate Blanchett in TAR who might give her a run for her money. I am not sure of who else. For me, she gave one of the best performances I have ever seen.

Yes. Yes. That’s what I was looking for. A list of other actresses. It would also have been better for her if this movie had been better received and understood because this movie is really brilliant. But for me, Ana should get it because there’s no one in the past, present or future that could ever come as close to creating MM as she has. People forget that MM was born just a few weeks after Queen Elizabeth in 1926. Almost a hundred years ago. She lived in another time and I truly believe, like Brigitte Bardot, she wouldn’t understand me2 or even like it.
