Definitely needs a sequel

If for no other reason, than for the fact that the Smile demon is now attached to the cop. If you think it fucked with Rose's life, imagine what his hallucinations could do to a guy walking around with a gun.

reply

The fact Sosie Bacon went up in flames is a bit of a dampener for the possible sequel. She was fantastic as the lead. Not sure a sequel would feel the same with her absence.

reply

You could absolutely bring her back as a smile demon hallucination for Joel.

reply

(Spoilers) That's really not the same and is actually much worse than her not appearing at all. She was an excellent lead because she was so sympathetic. Bringing her back as a smile demon hallucination is actually like rubbing salt on a wound because it's a reminder she's not only dead and gone, but she lost to the entity.

reply

Great idea actually.

reply

I thought of the same thing and it's a great idea.

I want a sequel also. Smile is the best horror of the year. I think the ending was a little disappointing. But overall some shots really freaked me out and is a really good movie. Plus the blonde actress from 90210 who played Rose's sister and her son are both still alive. And after the last scene of the nephew looking out the window, they can easily tell a great story there... a spinoff movie. I also think they should have another movie about the prisoner in a prequel to Smile.

reply

Haha, yeah I can see it. But it really is like a Japanese horror.

reply

I really think a movie about the prisoner (prequel) could be great.

reply

Forgot the nephew, he is clearly traumatized now, which may lead to something in the future.

reply

They should call it "Smile: Wish I had stayed my ass at home". Dude is about to be a true believer. I hope he has the sense to stay at the cabin alone and jack himself.

reply

Jack himself eh? Maybe off himself afterwards.

reply

I'm pretty sure the original ending was the face-off at the cabin. Then they decided to have a sequel and we got this disappointing finale. All for filthy lucre.
