Why Nolanites wet their pants every time Nolan expels a fart in the form of a movie?

And I ask this question in all seriousness WTF dude this movie is ok I'm not going to say is bad it did keep me entertained and invested in the story even with the long duration, but this movie doesn't deserve to be between the 250 best movies of all time is ridiculous is just a decent biopic if this movie was directed by Michael Bay people would receive it like the totally forgettable movie it is

But is Nolan, so the fangirls act like this was some deep philosophical experience or some shit, but this is not deep is just the story of some weird looking nerd who made a bomb to burn some random Asian people and them pretend to feel bad about it

One of those directors who some 'movie bros' worship.

Tarantino, Scorsese & Fincher are others. Historically Kubrick is another big one.

This is what happens when the auteur theory runs wild.

Nolan's films are like, so smart, dude. Like dude, when it talks about quantum mechanicals... deep, bro. And like, time dialations, um, wormsholes and stuff. And nukular bombs could lead to human's destruction? Craaazy. (plus dream thiefs, and totems, andIMAXandCobbsandHeathLedgersandLimboand and and)

*new Nolan film releases* - omg, best movie I've ever seen.

*new Nolan film releases* - THIS is without a doubt the best movie I've ever seen!

I can’t figure it out either. He’s a soulless hack who has never made a film worth watching.

reply

I am not a fan of all his films... but this is a pretty harsh statement... Can you name some of the films you like?

reply

In general? Why? Has nothing to do with the fact that he has no talent and sucks the life out of everything he does.

No suspense. No emotion. No thrills. Pedestrian action scenes. Convoluted, muddled plots.

Even his actors look bored. Heath Ledger in Dark Knight was the only one who had a personality.

Nolan seems to think all his characters should be dead inside and never, ever show emotion or even change their expressions.

Watching people at the local driver’s license office is more exciting.

memento was OK - everything else though.... lol

reply

Yes in general... I would like to know the movies you like? when you apparently hate everything Nolan does...

Or are you just here to bash Nolan?

reply

Oh I’m here to bash him. He deserves it.

reply

Did he do something personal to you that hurt your feelings? It seems counter productive just to be here to bash someone... but that is your time not mine... have fun...

It maybe got hyped up a bit... I liked it okay... but it is far from his best film... In my opinion Memento, The Prestige, Interstellar, Inception & his first 2 Batmam films are far superior...

reply

It gets worse - the woke elites gave him a globe award - so it's not just the nolanists - he's being propped up from the top.

reply

He's a little above par which is 10x better than all the other crap.

reply

Ok, If this doesn't prove that Hollywood is dead, I don't know what will, 7 Oscars? Include the best movie, director and actor? Even the dog from Anatomy of a Fall did a more compelling performance than Murphy the dude looks weird like the real Oppenheimer and that's it that is all his merit, the best movie? This shit is a competent biopic, nothing more, if you take the name Nolan out of this film no one would consider it one of the best of the year.

I think Nolan can be a talented director and I bet he still has some great movies on him, but this wasn't that, in the future he might surprise us with something great, but this shit will past to history as one of the biggest mistake of the academy just like Shakespeare in Love and Crash

ZZZzzz…

While I pretty much agree, in the case of this film, it's more than just the culty, Nolanite film bros overhyping the hell out of this movie. I was genuinely baffled how this movie pulled blockbuster numbers at the box office but it seems it was getting a big push from the industry all along. My conjecture is that a lot of the artificial hype for this film is a sign that the industry is attempting to pivot away from the saturated market of stale, superhero crap that seems to be churning out more bombs than hits in recent years. Still though, it does feel rather surreal to see a competent yet unremarkable biopic film get treated like it's a unicorn farting rainbows.
