Why Nolan uses so much Cillian Murphy in his movies?

Does he think he is a good actor?

reply

I don't know if he is a good actor (haven't seen Oppenheimer yet), but he was a perfect choice for Scarecrow in Batman Begins.

reply

He definitely had been not a good Batman and just a soso Wayne.

Nolan said he was taken by Murphy’s appearance. Particularly his eyes and the intense stare. Nolan knew that Murphy wouldn’t be suited for Batman when he auditioned. For Oppenheimer, Nolan was struck by the similarity of appearance, eyes and intense staring between Cillian and Oppenheimer. That is why he says he narrowed his choice to just Cillian.

They both say they get along very well and have good communication with another. I guess that’s important to someone like Nolan who has a bunch of actors that he loves to cast repeatedly in a bunch of movies. Cillian is apparently one of them.
