Disney said Indiana jones got some 50 million dollars in reimbursement. So the net spending for the movie would be less than 250. The 300 million budgets don’t cover the movie’s full marketing budget too. This movie should not have been released so close to Barbie and Oppenheimer. Paramount should have seen this coming. Michael’s second wife, Kay, is the one he truly loved. I suggest you rewatch the movies, including the godawful third one where Michael tells a Kay he always truly loved her, if you think Michael didn’t truly love his second wife or that he wasn’t vindictive from the beginning. You got that wrong. Michael was already vindictive as a person when he was punched in the face by the cop. The book says Michael knew he wanted to kill the man who punched him. Michael’s killing of McCluskey was deliberately more brutal in the movie and the book. That’s called being vindictive. That had less to do with Vito being shot in the first place but primarily about Michael’s ego. He volunteered at the prospect of killing McCluskey in addition to Solozzo. Michael was selfish at his core. That’s why he married Kay and dragged her into the mafia life even though he loved her. You contradict yourself by saying first that Kay is not the right choice for a gangster but end your answer by saying “she was the easier option” to have as an incompatible spouse to a gangster. Nolan said he was taken by Murphy’s appearance. Particularly his eyes and the intense stare. Nolan knew that Murphy wouldn’t be suited for Batman when he auditioned. For Oppenheimer, Nolan was struck by the similarity of appearance, eyes and intense staring between Cillian and Oppenheimer. That is why he says he narrowed his choice to just Cillian. They both say they get along very well and have good communication with another. I guess that’s important to someone like Nolan who has a bunch of actors that he loves to cast repeatedly in a bunch of movies. Cillian is apparently one of them. View all replies >
