Lol you're right, that is probably what's going to happen give or take.

More Nightmare on Elm: Ok... let's do it.
More Friday: Eh.
More Texas Chain: Pls do not do ok thank you.
Slashers Assemble: LOL ok why not.
More Wishmaster: HOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Ok.
More Psycho: Plis noooooo, but conceivable because of Bates Motel.
Freddy v. Michael: I can see it happening.
More The Fly: I'd rather we didn't.
More Hellraiser: A good one is possible.
More Candyman: I'm happy with just the first one.
Child's Play: In the process of being rebooted right now!

when The MCU struck gold from 2012 to 2015...someone in Hollywood, someone rich, or someone with connections should have got together with a Group of investors and sold them on A cinematic universe and Tried to By The right to Friday The 13th(Jason), Nightmare(Freddy), Halloween(Jason), Child's Play(Chucky) ....

It probably would have cost HUNDREDS of millions.....

but Rebooting all these series In Phases like you said and having them in each others films would have been a gold mine....

IMO Its too late now....with the success of Halloween, No studio is gonna sell the rights to one of those now....

But man 5 years ago would have been perfect....

Halloween was coming off An awful Zombie directed Part 2....The franchise was stalled...

Friday The 13th was coming off a Reboot that wasnt as successful as they wanted, I'm sure They didnt think It could be rebooted again....

Chucky was coming off one of the worst films ever in Seed, and has been in stuck in straight to DVD territory...

and Elms Street was coming off a not very successful reboot....

all of 4 cases, The franchises were at the right point where They might have sold and sold for a good price due to not knowing where to go with the franchise going forward.

In fact, I remember reading a few years ago that one of the studios just gave away the rights to Friday the 13th to sweeten a deal...

But Now, with Halloweens incredible success, no one is selling the rights to these franchises

PS...just found the article I was referring to....In 2013, WB wanted to co produce Interstellar with Paramont and WB just gave Them all the rights back to Friday the 13th in exchange....

bet they come to regret that as chances are Jason will be next to follow HW and if they can produce a half decent sequel it could also have a crazy opening

reply

I agree....I bet WB right now at this very moment in regretting it

But to have A GREAT Opening They've got to think of something that gets people excited, It just cant be a by the numbers reboot, they alright did that in 2009....

They got to come up with a way to immediately get people excited and talking like They did with this new Halloween....

there were a number of different things that got people talking and excited the second this new Halloween was announced from Jamie Lee Curtis returning(some thing everyone thought was in impossible) to this film disregarding The entire franchise and being a direct sequel to Part 1 to Blumhouse's Involvement to Carpenter being involved and endorsing the film....

Producers got to do some serious thinking and get creative and think of an idea or way to Make A New Friday The 13th reboot Instantly click with audiences....

If Not, I see just a normal 30 to 40 Million dollar opening

reply

As an idea...this is FUNNY! (As a parody of the MCU) As a reality...Nope!

Let these horror icons RIP

reply

There will be no resting in peace if someone can make a dollar off it.

reply

Well your gonna get diminishing box-office returns and sometimes it's better to kill something than let it suffer.

Make new cinematic horror icons and new franchises already and let the old ones rest in peace.

reply

They're trying with The Conjuring.

reply

They just need to try again, try try try again

reply

Yeah, and maybe give CGI a bit of a rest.

The whole cinematic universe thing is the Microsoft Powerpoint of movies. A series of seemingly endless slides which end when the creator's interest starts to wane.

as a idea/fantasy: this is a awesome idea. but as in real life: nope. this will never happened. I probably won't live to see all there movie.
