Triggered foreign nationals crying "woke" over American IP--What Else is New?

Aaliyah played the "queen" in Queen of the Damned. No one cared, because in the end, the most important characters in these books were Lestat and Marius.

Another reason why nobody cared is that back then, we didn't have an internet where low lives from the UK, Australia, Asia and other parts of the world could try to spread white supremacism and misogyny by registering in huge numbers on forums pretending to be Americans offended by "wokeness." Americans could enjoy their entertainment in peace without hearing feedback from foreign low lives weighing in.

Oh, BTW, you trolls aren't fooling anyone with your phony baloney, "I'm such a fan of these books, and I hate how woke it is..." Right, a series that's literally one long homoerotic story between male vampires has suddenly gone "woke." Try at least reading about an American IP beyond a synopsis on Wikipedia before trying to pass yourself off as a longtime fan. At least give yourselves a fighting chance at passing for one of us.

Of course it's TL;DR for you. You foreign nationals can barely grasp English above fourth grade. Tell me you're ESL without telling me you're ESL.

<<<<

The film adaption of Queen of the Damned bombed horribly and the fact Akasha was described as "white as marble" in the book but played by a black actress was CERTAINLY brought up at the time, and widely criticized (along with Stuart Townsend being cast as Lestat and the plot having nothing in common with the book aside from the basic premise of a vampire becoming a modern day rock star).

What alternate universe are you from where "no one cared"? Must be the same alternate universe where "no one" criticized Mitt Romney's Mormon religion when he ran against Obama in 2012.

That being said, as bad as Queen of the Damned was at staying faithful to the source material, it STILL looks 10X better than the new Interview with a Vampire remake. How pathetic is that?

reply

"white as marble" wasn't a skin color. Her body was turning white and hard like marble because she was thousands of years old.

reply

What you mean to say is, that because you didn't have the internet back then you weren't aware of people complaining when Aaliyah played Akasha. As if the internet didn't exist in 2002.
BTW "white supremacy" is exclusively a US thing, it doesn't exist in Asia, UK etc and these day it mainly exists inside the heads of idiots like you.

reply

Ethnic Asian supremacy is a thing in places like Japan, Korea and Han Chinese in the mainland and abroad. Even here in California there are Korean, South Asian (India), and Vietnamese immigrants who embrace White Racist tropes about Latinos, Native Americans and dark skinned Asians like Hmong, Filipinos, and Indonesians.

reply

"White Racist tropes" like 13/52???

My man, those are not tropes. Facts and statistics are NOT racist even if you don't like what those facts say about your race.

Solve your damn problems, as a race, and then you can talk.

reply

""white supremacy" is exclusively a US thing"

Nonsense. Nazi Germany, skinheads, anti-immigration bigotry, soccer's racist fans and growing far-right extremism throughout Europe.

Denial of racism is white supremacy similar to how denial of the Holocaust is anti-Semitism.

Damn foreigners eh?!
