IMDb Top 250?

Is it good enough to get a spot on the Top 250 or not?

reply

I don't think so. The movie is very entertaining though.

That's a big yes from me. Although not as faithful as some may wish it to be, it is honest and essentially feels like a TRUE Stephen King adaption -- yes, even more than the original mini-series. And it's not just an entertaining film, but a remarkably well-made, chilling and funny, intriguing, and dare I say profound one. Sure, there's more jump scares than many would like, though for me they weren't a problem because the tension and visuals were effectively done. Bill Skarsgard and the young cast are perfect in every way as well.

So, I'll gladly declare this to be far and away one of the greatest films based on King's books (the best one in a damn while for sure). Also better than a handful of films you'll find sitting in the top 250, imho.

Nope, rating is 8.3 and falling.

Yesterday it was 8.2 with 25k votes, didn't make the list.

I don't care. I've not been back to IMDB since they closed the boards and have no plans to ever again. At least this place seems to be catching on.

Some discussions, like the one about actor, rapper, and singer Riz Ahmed, however, are very slow.

hell no

The Top 250 lost meaning a long time ago. Usually, when a new and popular movie comes out, it gets a bunch of upvotes and ends up on the list, often bumping off a classic because it isn't as fresh in users' minds. That's not to say It isn't a good movie. It was very well made, but the Top 250 list doesn't mean much.
