Vikander is the best female action star of all time

I know it’s kind of early in her career to award her this, but she accomplished more in this 1 movie than Angelina Jolie and Mila Jovovich did in their entire careers.

Just speaking the truth boys and girls.

You are one delusional dude. Sigourney Weaver was the backbone of one of the great science fiction franchises of all time. She is a million times more believable as an action hero than the little pipsqueak in Tomb Raider. Nobody gives a damn about this lame film. It hasn't even reached the break even point yet.

reply

I don’t equate performance with box office numbers so I don’t think you have a point here.

Once again here are the facts: 1.)Weaver cannot ride a bike
2.) Vikander did all of her own stunts
3. Weaver hardly did any action in ‘Aliens’, she lightly jogged and fired her gun a few times, plus she was very out of shape.
4.) Vikander is actually hot, making her a triple threat.
5.) Tomb Raider was the most physically challenging role for a female in the history of cinema and the movie is the best video game adapted film of all time.

These facts cannot be argued, that’s all I’m trying to say.

reply

What in the world makes you think Weaver can't ride a bicycle? And what does riding a bicycle have to do with anything? Bizarre post.

Honestly, Michelle Yeoh at 50 something years old is still miles ahead as an action star.

Let's put it this way: Yeoh is the only woman that is allowed to do her own stunts in Jackie Chan movies.

Let that sink in for a moment, then watch her jump a motorcycle onto a moving train. In fact, watch ANY part of Police Story 3: Super Cop (just "Super Cop" in the US) and then come back here and see if you feel the same way.

Michelle Yeoh, STILL The First Lady of Martial Arts actresses. Do you know that she’d never ridden a motorcycle until the day she did that stunt with the train? I loved watching her kick the toadstools out of James Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies. Her form is so graceful and precise, just like the lady herself.

sinking it in and it bears repeating:
jackie chan is a sexist who only allows small-men wearing chinese wigs to do stunts for his female counterpart actresses

reply

Not Michelle Yeoh.

Not Maggie Chung

Look it up.

Or not: continue to live in ignorance.

my eyes are a good enuff gauge for whether michelle yoeh is a man or woman

reply

Hard to believe, seeing as you think it was a man that did her stunts, including the motorcycle/train jump. Same for Maggie Chung who allowed herself to be pulled off a moving scooter, and actually got hurt when a series of clothing racks falling like dominoes hit her in the head.

Either that, or - more likely - you just have a hard-on for Jackie Chan, and refuse to believe the truth...

to quote QT:
the greatest action star of alltime!

reply

If anyone knows about ignorance, you would be he.

Consider also: Charlize Theron: Aeon Flux, Atomic Blonde and Mad Max: Fury Road. She obliterates Vikanker.

But does not begin to equal Michelle Yeoh or Sandhal Bergman or Gal Gadot for the precision, intensity and artistry of their martial acting skills. Goodbye, little boy.

reply

Her name is Maggie ChEung, Joe—but you are very familiar with her😂

reply

No, it's "Maggie Cheung Man-yuk," or "張曼玉" in Hanzi. Ti Dong ma?

Wanna correct somebody, get it right, Scooby, otherwise you look the ass.

Also, didn't say I was very familiar with her. I wrote "Same for Maggie Chung who allowed herself to be pulled off a moving scooter, and actually got hurt when a series of clothing racks falling like dominoes hit her in the head." One sentence is a post does NOT connote "familiarity."

The Reading is Fundamental program might help your comprehension, son.

Which, of course, even if it were true, negates all of my points, morbidangel, doesn’t it?

reply

She actually did pretty good. I was especially impressed with her fight choreography. And most of her running stunts looked like she was doing them.

Not even close lol

Well with the combination of how fit she got for this with her acting ability I think she could have been if she'd been in a better movie. Either a better version of this or a spy movie playing a femme Bourne or Bond type character.
