I didn't know Agatha Christie was married to a black man

I'm all for untraditional casting, but when you're dealing with real people, relatively well known people I think you should stick to reality.

A lot of people think that Agatha Christie wrote fiction, but no. She committed every one of the murders she wrote about. That's integrity !

Agreed. So stupid and obvious virtue signaling.

And disrespectful to the person whose life’s work they’re taking advantage of considering they treated her like a disheveled weirdo. Agatha was many things but not a disheveled weirdo (married to a random black guy.)

Yeah, since she's actually a real person, there was no reason to make her husband black. Really doesn't make sense.

It was completely fucking stupid and went a long way to ruin what was otherwise a fairly fun and charming film. Stupid, stupid decision. Max Mallowan was a real person!

For that matter, I didn't really like the portrayal of Agatha either. I get that the movie was meant to me light-hearted and not serious, but still, the portrayal had virtually no grounding in reality.

They also made Richard Attenborough way too tall.
