I like it!

Yes, there are Negative Ninnies, like Crritical Drinker and his horde. Ignore them. ahsoka is a solid series! There are some derivative moments (yes another map search to find a secret leader) but it’s done leagues better than the awful Force Awakens.

I love the Dark master and his apprentice! I was sort of rooting against Sabine, who is a little annoying in the mode of recent Disney heroines, but she gets her comeuppance right in episode one (yes!!). I hope she develops well, and no I know nothing about the cartoon series.

I have watched 4 episodes. The show is dark, moody like Game of Thrones and the good guys do not always win just because they are the good guys (or gals).

I think the show is right up there with Rogue One and the best elements of early Mando. I haven’t finished Andor, but I think these represent the best of Dinsy Star Wars. Ignore the other films, forget Boba, and I had to stop Kenobi b/c I could NOT stand some of the characters.

There’s still life in Disney Star Wars…

I've only watched the first episode but the re-characterisation of Sabine was awful.

It's hard to believe this was from the same guy who was behind Rebels.

After the episode, I re-watched the end of Rebels (literally just the last scene) to see if I had been remembering the character wrongly. But no, that was enough to see she'd effectively been lobotomized and turned into the impudent brat Princess character they obviously felt this series needed.

There's also the trainee Jedi thing - again this makes absolutely no sense to anyone who watched Rebels. Plus in that last scene, we see her heading off with Ahsoka to search for Ezra! So what happened - They decided to give up on that and commence master / apprentice training instead?!

REBELS IS ANIMATED RIGHT?...IS AHSOKA SUPPOSED TO BE A CONTINUATION?...OR ARE THEY ROLLING THEIR OWN WAY?

reply

Yeah, it's supposed to be a continuation.

It was nice to see the characters and Lothal (the primary setting) from Rebels but there are a few odd things. e.g. Sabine, the mural showing the actual cartoon characters was weird, a retcon of Erza leaving Sabine a message, which was stupid given how he and Thrawn disappeared.

In terms of continuation though, this return of Thrawn and presumably Ezra is the main thing.

reply

So, it's being a "Negative Ninnie" if you find the series boring and poorly acted, written and directed?

reply

That's how shills talk.

reply

You don't know what a "shill" is, do you?

reply

I was referring to the OP, not you.

Between that and the usual excessive punctuation and enthusiasm.

It's OK.

reply

Gotcha!

reply

Can you explain to me how a "map" that's been hidden for thousands of years can show the path to people that vanished few years ago?

reply

Those vanished people used a second map that has NOT been hidden for thousands of years. It's not rocket science...

reply

That's NOT how they vanished.

"After many battles with the Rebels, Thrawn and his fleet were defeated during the liberation of Lothal by Ezra Bridger and the Purrgil. The Purrgil wrapped Thrawn in their tentacles and took him and Ezra through hyperspace to parts unknown."

"One Imperial officer reported that the ships attacked by the Purrgil were "just gone", and Pellaeon reported that he had never seen something like it. The Purrgils wrapped their tentacles around the Chimaera, smashing their tentacles through the viewports and holding Thrawn and his crew in their grip. Though he wounded Ezra with his blaster, Thrawn was Force-pushed into the purrgils' tentacles by the young Jedi, the "many arms" of the creatures holding him in their "cold embrace", just as the Bendu had foretold. The creatures carried the Chimaera — and Thrawn and Ezra — into hyperspace, leaving both Thrawn's and Ezra's fates unknown."

No map ...

reply

It's okaaay... Andor is far better (as is Rogue One) imho. The jedi stuff I can do without.

reply

I agree. I’ve watched four episodes of Andor so far, and it’s not just great Star Wars, it’s great, period. Fantastic political intrigue, thriller, espionage, action, etc. and the characters are very compelling. The best of the SW shows by far.

reply

Kind of amazed you thought that after the first few episodes.

It took us three attempts to get through Andor. After trudging through maybe episodes 5-8 (or thereabouts), it did pick up and finished pretty well.

So if you're already liking the stuff at the start, you'll probably be amazed by it come the end...

reply

I also like this series so far.

"Every new Star Wars is da bestest Star Wars evarrrrrr!" says toxic, involuntarily celibate woman baby.

reply

No one is saying that, it is however very good.

reply

Oh, you don't know what very good Star Wars is.

reply

Very good Star Wars is the OT, Revenge of the sith, Rogue One, Mando season 1 and 2, Andor , Ashoka ...i want to include TFA but TLJ and TROS kind of killed that.
