Yes. It´s just OK. imo

What?!!! It’s a great movie

reply

Yeah, I've seen it.

It's a solid film. The director wanted to make an MMA movie but make it a serious drama instead of some cheesy shit like Never Back Down.

I'd say the results are mixed, but I feel positively about it overall.

I liked it.

yes, but way overrated

One of the best movies of 2011. Nolte, Hardy and Edgerton were excellent. Especially Nolte, powerful role. 9/10

thanks

I agree. Nolte almost steals the entire movie with just one scene.

reply

Yeah he was pretty amazing in this. But I haven't seen a movie where he doesn't give a great performance, truly a great actor.

I live in Victoria BC. He was here about five years ago filming a series called Gracepoint.

From what was reported, he's not a social guy. He showed up every morning at his favourite local coffee shop and bluntly told would-be fans who approached him to 'f**k off, I'm reading my paper'. (tbf I'm that way myself until I've had my morning coffee and read my paper...).

The series itself was fine -- not great -- but once again Nolte damn near steals his few episodes -- one in particular -- with his performance. He's one of the few actors who's transitioned from successful A-lister to successful character actor.

I agree. Great movie, the three male leads were terrific.
Family stuff can be annoying in action movies but not here, in this one you really start to care for the characters. This was really well made and pretty exciting.

i absolutely love it. one of tom hardy's best roles so far imo. a bit long, and it definitely sports some cliches, as sports films almost inevitably will, but i found it absolutely absorbing & genuinely powerful - an updated, more emotional mma version of rocky, if you like.

reply

Yep, thought it was really good. One of the very few good MMA films.

One of my favorite movies. Loved it. Great acting, great music, high drama. Yes it is cheesy and cliched but awesome.
