Superman & Lois mocks the Snyderverse! YES!!!!

I just got done watching episode 7 (after missing it on Tuesday because its hard getting back into Superman & Lois' regular schedule time after the long hiatus)

This episode kicked the Snyderverse's butt SO HARD that Hack Snyder is gonna be sore for a month!

Two brilliant moments really stood out for me:

1) Superman in General Luthor's alternate earth being a thinly veiled swipe at the Snyderverse Superman, right down to the episode being named "Man of Steel" and THAT Superman's reckless disregard for human life unintentionally making him the clear cut villain in THAT world, as THAT Superman is clearly ALL about destruction porn. Sound familiar? Kinda like Nolan/Snyder/Goyer's "vision" for how a "modern" Superman should be depicted? HMMMMM!

2) The reveal that "General Luthor's" true identity is..... [WARNING: SPOILER ALERT AHEAD] John Henry Irons from an alternate earth! YES! MIND BLOWN. That was a perfectly logical way to solve the character's identity that I NEVER saw coming, even though it was obvious from the start. (again, even being a play on the episode's title, "Man of Steel". Makes sense because Steel has always been a substitute Superman, and you could see him going off the rails and taking matters into his own hands if the "Superman" he encountered was a mass murdering psychopath) AND, a HUGE slapdown at the Snyderites who kept sneering about Superman & Lois was somehow secretly "going woke" and cited the supposed "Race swapping" of Lex Luthor (hypocritically, they were fine and dandy with race swapping Perry White in the Snyderverse, BTW) as "proof" of it. Well, guess what Snyderites, he AIN'T Lex Luthor after all, his real identity is John Henry Irons, and John Henry Irons in the comic book source material has ALWAYS been a black guy. Game over, YOU LOSE! Good day, sir. :-)

I can't wait for more Superman & Lois, it just keeps handing Hack Snyder his @$$!

I'm about 95% sure that Evil Superman gonna show up at the end of Superman & Lois.

Wow that actually sounds like really good writing, which is shocking for a CW show.

I haven't bothered wasting my time getting invested in the show because I KNOW they will go woke at some point.

Remember, it took Arrow two whole seasons before they started the woke nonsense and retconning characters to push their degenerate agenda. I think it took The Flash maybe, three seasons? I'm not entirely sure, but it certainly didn't happen within the first two seasons. Same thing with The 100.

Superman & Lois is still on its first season, and so the CW isn't going full-blown woke just yet. They're letting it marinate.

But the show acknowledging the recklessness of Snyder's Man of Steel does sound really good. And the reveal that Luthor is actually not Luthor but rather an alternate universe Steel is pretty cool and makes sense.

I will admit, I'm impressed and a little bit intrigued. But I won't invest my time in this show yet. I'm going to wait for the inevitable woke elements to emerge.

Has NOTHING to do with Snyder's Superman. Lois is Supe's GF/wife in Synder's verse as well.

And the Supe in Snyder's verse doesn't side with the Kryptonians. And it's not evil.

Even worse: Luthor (Irons) is hell bent on revenge and like a bull seeing red for the same reason as Supe in Snyder's verse: the death of Lous ...

I really tried to get into this show. But i was mostly bored by it. Its like Parenthood with Superpowers. But it is a lot closer to what Superman should be than what Snyder gave us. And i think that Tyler Hoechlin comes the closest to recapturing the charm and charisma that Chirstopher Reeve and George Reeves had. Maybe they should put him in the movies.

Tyler Hoechlin has really made it his own.

Isn't Luthor black in Superman and Lois? That makes Snyderverse better. Luthor is not a black man. That invalidates the show.

reply

He's not actually Luthor but John Henry Irons/Steel.
