Hated it.

Because renewable energy is not perfect, it is absolutely redundant and a lost cause?

The first car couldn't drive 60 mph either, so people still relied on horses as a back-up. That's how innovation works. You try, you experiment, you fail and then you succeed and slowly progress to the next thing. You're going to have to take a step back sometimes before you can take a step forward. I never expected companies or events to immediately rely on green energy only, or green energy to immediately be perfect. Not sure why these people did.

"Some solar panels only work for ten years..."

So what?! Some cars are pink Fiat Multiplas, that says nothing about literally every other car. They conveniently didn't tell you about the solar panels that last way longer than that because they don't want you to think for yourself and give it a fair representation.

Absolutely no clue what they wanted to achieve with this. Let us know that a product that has been popular for only a decade isn't fully developed yet? Gee, thanks...

Hate this trash reasoning, from either side of the spectrum.

Welcome to Michael Moore's documentaries 😄

reply

Indeed.

reply

I guess the truth hurts. These “green energies” are just a sham.

reply

Back that up.

reply

Well bioenergy is.

reply

billions of people consuming renewables/non-renewables

reply

One thing you have to agree on, is that cutting down and burning trees is not a good way to get renewable energy.

reply

Ever heard of the 18th century?

reply

what about it?

reply

Biofuels have been the top renewable energy for many thousands of years.

reply

Much less people, and much lower consumption of energy per capita.

And even though, deforestation happened, and happened heavily. The middle ages populated with forests is a myth.

reply

Indeed Spain had huge forests - until the Armada was build...

reply

That's a very popular myth, but it's still a myth. Spain never had such forests.

Just because they were the top, does not mean they are the best, it caused more damage than it did.

reply

I didn't say it was best, just that it worked. Peat was more popular than wood when available. Third world still uses twigs and straw.

Large European cities were using coal long before the industrial revolution.

If we cannot tolerate critical (or even polemical) assessments of emergent "clean" technology, then we will end up with bad solutions, with unintended consequences...

It's important not to let this be simply an ideological path, but rather a pragmatic approach to dealing with polution and to diversify our energy sources...

The internet teaches people to be violent and dogmatic and unthinking when it comes to just about any subject. First thing they do is rave and insult. This is an assault on democracy itself, an attack on the very idea that people can get along and learn well enough to make up their own minds about their own lives.

Just do what your betters tell you to do, and don't think. It is not the jobs of Americans to think any more. This country is going full fascist. Planet of the Humans was something people are not used to seeing so they just reject it out of hand. Critical thinking is an important skill.

It is not because it was "not perfect". For instance in the case of bio-fuel it is going to eat up the living stuff on the planet like burning all the trees for firewood. Study Easter Island mentioned in the book "Collapse" by Jared Diamond. Archeologists know that the island used to be covered with trees and life, and then little by little the people there cut down every single tree. That is what biofuel would do. Humanity's power needs will never lessen, so how much of the surface of the planet do we want to devote to solar cells? They are not making any more land on planet Earth, so solar is hardly a renewable resource. They took the time to add it all up and it doesn't add up. The only thing that makes sense for long term carbon-free energy generation is nuclear, and they don't want to mention nuclear because all of Michael Moore's fans would tear their hair out. Do you think they made up the stuff about how long solar panels last? The point is that they have a limited lifetime, as do windmills.

reply

It seems geo-thermal has not made significant strides. That would certainly be better than renewables or nuclear, but alas, it is currently a playground for the elites to have access to (Al Gore). I'm not declaring geo-thermal to be easy to tap in to, in fact I know little about it, but it's never talked about and never pushed for like solar or wind.

The current meta of trash talking against natural gas is very worrisome. It's a very clean and efficient fossil fuel, but the fact it's a fossil fuel makes greenies rage against it.

reply

Natural gas is clean in the sense of toxic chemical pollutants, but is burns and releases carbon into the atmosphere. What is it that keeps you from understanding this is an existential issue? Do you benefit from the carbon economy enough to be able to ignore the death of the planet ( I don't see how ) or are you just oblivious to facts as your name suggests?

reply

Do you know what you are talking about?

reply

He's a fucking idiot and he just showed his ass, like a braying mule. HEEHAW

reply

What the hell are you talking about? First of all, carbon is not a poison. Second, there is not enough carbon released from Natural Gas to affect the climate one way or another, and that's if we burned all the supply of it on Earth, all at one time. I was trying to be civil, but you don't want that, so just piss off why don't ya? Talk about oblivious, you greenies are fucking idiots, period, and want humans living in the stone age. Why are you on the internet? That puts carbon into the atmosphere you fucking moron. Every bit of plastic from your computer or phone is made with Petroleum, every damn bit of plastic! Almost certainly your electricity is made from petroleum or fossil fuels.

Do you dumb fucks think Fiberglass windmill blades are clean? Fiberglass is all chemicals and very dangerous to the workers making it. You ever breath in Fiberglass fumes? I have and it's toxic and you physically feel the inhalations as it hammers your lungs and nasal. I bet you're oblivious to that.

You're so fucking stupid you probably think Propane is toxic and dangerous to the planet too, there's no talking any sense to you green fucks. Am I invested in carbon? Hell yes, I love having HEAT in my home during the winter time, and natural gas is clean and cheap. I don't want to live in a cave, scrounging dead branches for firewood like you morons want for the world.
