Saw a screening last night

Really good movie if you're a Cage fan! One of the few movies in a long time that had me laughing out loud pretty constantly, although it's a really predictable movie and it did start to lose some steam towards the end and it wasn't quite as crazy as I was hoping it would be.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

reply

Sounds good. What would you rate it out of 10? And is it family friendly?

reply

Since when is ANYTHING with Cage in it "family friendly"?

reply

I’d say the National Treasure films are pretty family friendly.

reply

I'm a Brit who was in America, and at some point, on the coach on the way to DC, they showed the first National Treasure movie on the screens, and everyone agreed that the movie was WHOLLY INACCURATE. So it may be "family friendly", but it's also BULLSHIT!

reply

It's not a documentary. It's a fictional adventure. A parent can certainly teach their children factual history during their after-viewing talk.

reply

1. We all agreed on the coach that it was shit.
2. Why not just show them an actual documentary? And not necessarily one from CuriosityStream, neither (another piece of shit).

reply

What's wrong with watching both documentaries and fun films?

reply

Nothing. It's your choice, but be prepared to take them with practically a bucket of salt.

reply

1. It's called a "bus" when you're in America.
2. How do you make a documentary about something that never happened?

reply

Oh my God! Fiction isn't the same thing as reality! The world makes no sense now!!!

reply

Are you for real?.. 🤔

reply

many movies , i guess you didn't watch them . i'll make a list for you:

Peggy Sue Got Married
Raising Arizona
Moonstruck
Honeymoon in Vegas
Guarding Tess
It Could Happen to You
Trapped in Paradise
City of Angels
Gone in 60 Seconds
The Family Man
Captain Corelli's Mandolin

I only maybe listed half of them cause i don't want to make you look like an idiot.

reply

Does it reference all his movies or is it more just about Cage himself?

reply

Plenty of references to his other movies

reply

Great to hear - looking forward to this one.

I admire famous people who can make fun of themselves, like Burt Reynolds did. It’s too bad that Eric Roberts and Bruce Willis are not in this. Shit! That’s an idea for a franchise: The Dependables: Always There For The Check. Well, Demi is in this, so that’s a good start.

I met Nick many years ago, in a nightclub. He’d just finished filming Vampires Kiss. He was seated at a table on the mezzanine level. I apologized for intruding on his privacy, but told him I wanted him to know how much pleasure he had brought into my life. He was cordial and gracious. I liked him.

Geez, this guy’s been around as long as dirt, hasn’t he!?

I’m just now remembering Peggy Sue Got Married . . . I loved Buddy Holly so much. Elvis was The King, but Buddy was The Crown Prince.

We can NEVER know too much history.

Seeing it on Friday. Does he do any parody of 'THE BEES! NOT THE BEES!?' I for some reason like his overacting method in some of his shows.
