Quality of the show will suffer when the two main actreses are replaced
Specially when Olivia Cooke takes over as Alicent. She is a very poor actress and won't do well in this role.
shareSpecially when Olivia Cooke takes over as Alicent. She is a very poor actress and won't do well in this role.
shareMaybe, maybe not...
It's not like this show has been all that great to begin with. It's been slightly above average in my view. So, replacements might be an improvement. I think Milly Alcock will be the bigger loss though.
Nah, I don't think so. And Emma D'Arcy will bring the much-needed weight to the Rhaenyra role.
shareEven worse, when “non-binary” (I’m a girl but I’m keeping it secret though I play a woman) actress Emma D'Arcy takes over the role. 😕
shareYes you can expect the wokeness to become very prominent with her character.
shareImagine replacing a hotty like Alcock with this poor excuse for a woman.
shareJesus Christ i had never heard of this Emma D'Arcy person but Replacing the lovely Milly Alcock with THAT is gonna be beyond weird.
shareYes, it will kill interest in the character.
shareunless she's a sexless joyless spinster harpy, that casting is completely off. if that's the personality profile they wanted to go with then it could make sense for a masculine military ruler but seeing how they had the younger version play, i doubt that's what they wanted. it's just woke bullshit to cast this person.
shareWhat do you mean? Are you referring to in the distant future? Or are there actress changes in store mid-season?
shareStarting with the next episode the two lead actresses are replaced
shareWell that sucks. I don’t see what’s the issue of them just playing themselves.
shareApparently it's a pretty big leap into the future, like 8 or 9 years. And Milly still looks like a teenager. Its going to be weird watching new people though.
If you watch the preview for next week, you can see the replacements in action.
I have really liked both Milly Alcock as Rhaenyra and Emily Carey as Alicent but it makes sense to cast new actors for the older versions. Milly Alcock in particular has small facial features and she looks kind of child-like so she would not be a good fit for a more hardened older Rhaenyra. And I suppose they couldn't recast Milly and not Emily because that would look odd.
