Killing Off Rocky?

Rumor is that the 3rd installment will likely center around the death of Rocky as the driving force to make a few bucks. Stallone better not sign off on this sh*t. There’s NOWHERE for them to take a 3rd Creed movie after the last one but it won’t make any $ without Stallone attached. And the studio knows it. Stallone doesn’t need the money. This is a legacy play. Do not kill off this icon in what will otherwise by a film with a stupid story that no one cares about. There’s nowhere else to go with the Creed character after defeating Drago’s son. I was hoping with the “its your time now” and reuniting with his son that it would finally be the last we see of Rocky. With a PROPER happy ending. DONT RUIN IT.

There's always somewhere for him to go but at the same time Adonis Creed does not have what it takes to carry the entire film by himself. Rocky needs to be in it and if this is the film where Rocky dies then they need to just call it quits. I was also a little confused on why they also brought back Razzie Award Winner Briggite Nielson who won Worst Supporting Actress for her role in Rocky IV. Did anyone really want to see her again? Oh well at least she for the most part kept her mouth shut.

For the longest time I thought Rocky died at the end of Rocky Balboa considering it ends with him visiting Adrian and then he just disappears. Found out about 8 years later I was wrong.

reply

Since the time I made this post Sly has flatly stated he will not be returning in any more Creeds. Verbatim. He’s done. From his mouth.

reply

I’m taking that with a grain of salt. At one point he also said he wouldn’t make any more rocky or Rambo movies

reply

The only place to take Rocky in another Creed movie is to his death. Every other arc has been covered. Stallone is not signing Rocky’s death certificate in what will otherwise be a shallow Creed film. He was asked this exact question and he vehemently said it won’t happen.

reply

One could have said there was nowhere else to take Rocky after he defeated Apollo and yet there was. I get what you're saying but I'm not buying it at all. Drago also never really impressed me that much as an antagonist and I was never really buying the whole rivalry between them. I understand completely why it would exist my point is it wasn't executed well and therefore I don't see Creed defeated Drago as the epic conclusion that many are viewing it as.

reply

Here we are today and Stallone is indeed not attached at all. He’s done with Creed.

reply

What about lycanthropy? I don't think Rocky movies have ever gone that route? Maybe Rocky can mentor Teen Wolf 2 for an upcoming title fight against a werekangaroo with sick boxing skillz.

reply

Couldn't say for certain. I kind of want them to show if Clubber Lang had a son. Everyone else has.

reply

Won’t have nearly the impact of the last film. The “beef” between Apollo and Clubber was basically non-existent. They argued in the ring once for 5 seconds. That was the extent of it. The Drago storyline had juice. Clubber’s son wouldn’t have any of that.

reply

If Rocky ever dies in one of these films, he should be the central focus of the movie since the series as a whole has been his story. If Rocky dies, I would like it to be in one more round in the ring in a rematch with Clubber as a part of an “old man” fight.

reply

This is a horrible idea lol

reply

I agree having him die in the ring would be terrible especially if it’s Clubber who kills him

Creed 3 Shouldn't Kill Off Rocky (But It Probably Will)

https://screenrant.com/creed-3-rocky-death-inevitable-bad-mistake/

Sylvester Stallone says he's not returning for Creed 3, but the sequel shouldn't kill off the character (even though it most likely will).

reply

I don’t think this writer knows what the hell he’s talking about. I doubt highly whoever is penning Creed 3 is being afforded the creative control to kill off Rocky in a film Stallone isn’t even attached to. I’d wager heavily against this even being a possibility in legal terms.

Here's what they will do:

Creed will receive a message that Rocky's "near the end". He will be blocked/distracted from arriving at the hospital in time to say his last goodbyes. When he finally arrives, they will just show a body covered with a sheet, so Stallone doesn't have to be there. Creed will dedicate his next fight to honor Rocky's memory.

The End.

reply

That’s not happening.
