Test Screenings aren't going well.

Read a view reactions from people who saw test screenings on Twitter. These were the few takeaways:

- Trailer for the film is very misleading.
- The story isn't as interesting as the trailer makes it seems.
- No Social Commentary
- Poor Pacing
- VFX effects look terrible

Might be delayed so they have time to fix it.

"No social commentary"

That's actually a good thing if it's true. I'm so done with the social commentary.

reply

I agree. Didn't mean to make it sound like it was a bad thing, just was one of the take aways I saw from screening reactions.

Examples of social commentary?

You first.

I've read it's barely a horror film, more like a combo of Signs and Twister. People chasing aliens with cameras to try and film them so they can make money to save their ranch. It sounds like Jordan Peele's attempt at making a summer blockbuster. I did hear that the test screening reviewed was 170 minutes long, so I'm sure it'll be trimmed down significantly.

reply

Fuck the trailer. I saw 2-3 trailers including the teaser and all had a different vibe. I'm not judging my enjoyment on the trailer, it should be judged on its own merit.

reply

So tired of people making the trailer so important. Trailers shouldn't be there to tell you much about the story, they are there to get people interested in the movie and sell it to get people into theaters. It is a moron who thinks that a trailer is there to always tell people what a movie is all about.

reply

Lol, agree. Sometimes I'll see a trailer for the first time and I'll turn it off once I know I'm going to see the film, especially for a mystery/thriller.

reply

One trailer that actually gives away the killer is It Lies Beneath. A really good movie that was ruined by the trailer. It is the reason I rarely watch them. I don't want to know too much. Some trailers are a synopsis of the entire movie. Who wants to see that?

reply

Yeah it's obnoxious!
