The characters are getting into MIT, they are being portrayed as younger than the actors' ages.
Like Ralph Macchio being portrayed as 16 in the Karate Kid when he was actually in his twenties.
the most unrealistic thing in this movie is that its plot hinges on all three of them believing they all should be admitted to MIT.
it is not a trivial thing to be admitted to MIT.
I also noticed that Alfred Molina has 6 arms in his scenes, but he only really has two. I don't understand what that is about.

shareI ended up Googling it. Turns out it's the same thing as for why Tom and Zendaya are talking about MIT. Google says it's something called "acting" where people pretend to be someone or something they aren't. It also said that Marlon Brando wasn't really a Mafia don. I learned a lot today.
