More successful than the first?

The odds of this being successful is pretty good. Even though its a soft reboot.

reply

I'll probably go and see it.

reply

Depends on how it looks from the trailer, I guess.

reply

Nope, it is awesome!

This series in particular has had a lot of reboots, rehashes, and sequels.

I was okay with the 2018. But, honestly, I'm sure I gave it a pass because of how awful the Rob Zombie movies were.

reply

Didn't the series have just one reboot (Rob Zombie's)? What came after that was the continuation of the previous ones, with Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode.

1- Halloween III (which was.. I don't even know what that was)
2- Halloween (Rob Zombie's remake in 2007)
3- Halloween 2 (Rob Zombie's sequel to his remake)

On 11 movies, only 3 were not from the main story line.

reply

Technically:

4 was a reboot because myers was dead after 2 (confirmed in interviews with Moustafa Akkad)
7 was a reboot that ignores 3-6
you're right about the rest.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers -> Ten years after his original massacre, the invalid Michael Myers awakens on Halloween Eve and returns to Haddonfield to kill his seven-year-old niece. Can Dr. Loomis stop him?

This sounds nothing like a reboot. And honestly, even if Michael died... as the killer in a slasher movie franchise, they can make him comeback indefinitely.

Same thing for H20 ... absolutely not a reboot. A sequel.

reply

I disagree. That's where we stand.

reply

It is.

Well if they go for VOD, they would make a killing. I don't see theaters opening soon since COVID is back for another sequel.

I heard IRan is behind this for revenge of leader Soleimani assasination but don't quote me.

Vote for Trump now before you get infected by Covid. Stay safe, wash hands and don't touch your face.

If there's another quarantine, possibly.

Too many reboots and sequels to reboots?

With this one there will be 12 Halloween movies in total. The only reboot was Rob Zombie's movies. Halloween (2007) and it's sequel Halloween 2 (2009). After that they just resumed to original series.

reply

yes.
