Could Chris Hemsworth go into Mr Olympia competitions?

He looked quite jacked when naked.

reply

Not a fucking chance. Yes, he has some suze and is nicely defined. Look at pics of Lou Ferrigno and Arnie in their competitive years. You will see the difference. Those guys were a combination of da Vinci sculpture and Panzer tanks.

reply

That was CGI enhanced. Did you notice that when Natalie Portman was "Thor", she was about six feet tall and jacked, when in real life she is short and has twigs for arms and legs.

reply

That was intentional and obvious, her superhero form was bigger than the real Jane, and blonder as well.

But Hemsworth was probably a bit CGI enhanced as well, I mean he's a great big muscular guy, but the CGI department was probably told to exaggerate his shoulders and minimize his waist in certain shots, because this is a superhero movie and even the biggest and most muscular actor they can find wasn't jacked enough to play the sort of superhero they put in the comics.

40 years ago. As jacked as Chris is, he's potatoes to the lunatics competing today. IMO, body building has become grotesque. It's no longer beautiful. It's not the perfection of the human form. It's a perversion of it.

reply

Because he was either by himself or standing next to mostly women. The camera always makes lean guys look bigger than they are.

Stand him in an Olympia line up and he'll look like Christian Bale from The Machinist. He is comparable to a lightweight division bodybuilder and is nowhere near as big as the bloated monstrosities that comprise the current day open Mr Olympia field.

reply

Nope, he's too tall and lean. Most body builders are short and stocky, so their muscles seem bigger.
