am I the only one who has trouble telling some of the characters apart?

Same here exatera. Plus this show is also being aired now at the same time as the other NEW HBO show called "THE NEVERS" where one is also just as confused sometimes in being able to tell who some of those characters are suppose to be.

And Since we've also only briefly seen the girlfriend of Mare's daughter that one time where she rejects the embrace of her daughter while she lays in bed next to her, I'm also not sure if that's the same girl or not who pukes at the radio station. Because they also didn't show her face again at that time when she vomits, and even if they had, then one also wouldn't remember it enough to recognize her ( due to the way that we also never saw a close enough shot of it when she lays in bed).

And since we also never saw the full face of that other character who creates the obscene drawing -- after the other woman with the security camera keeps looking at him at that other fund raising event -- (who also looked like he was wearing some kind of face paint at that time) -- and we also never saw his face before Mare deletes from the security camera -- how can one recognize him if we see him again???

Or what about other members of the band that Mare's daughter belongs to??? Would we recognize any of them if we saw them again? We briefly see them the night of the engagement party, and again at the radio station, but it's doubtful one would recognize any of them upon seeing them again.

On the other hand, it would also be easy to recognize the other girl who works at the radio station again if one were to see her again (even though we've also only seen her briefly a couple of times Sunday night).

Weird huh???

The beards don't help

not so far after episode one. we will see.

The priests? They look quite different. For one, to me at least, one looks noticeably older. Furthermore, one looks like a rather fragile, timid guy while the other looks virile and fit.

Some of the characters, especially the middle-aged white guys, were sketchily drawn and unmemorable. I think it was partly to keep us guessing about them, but also a lack of skill on the writer's part.

Hmmmm.......I thought the 2 priest couldn't look more different.

Not so much the characters but personally, it was difficult enough to keep track of who is related to who. In the 6th episode, I didn't know which family the "Ross family reunion" was referring to. Plus I never realized that Lor's husband was Erin's uncle.
