Are they dead? That final wide shot of the wall collapsing looked like everyone on that would be dead.

I'm pretty sure it was only Eastwatch-by-the-Sea that was destroyed. Castle Black and the Shadow Tower, and all the derelict castles in between should all still be in place.
Tormund & Beric likely managed to run across enough of the wall to get away from the collapse zone.
Tormund has to live because I love him and he still hasn't made a giant baby with Brienne yet.
beric has to live because the lord of light had a plan for him and it wasn't to die in a pile of rubble.
We didn't see them die, so I doubt it. Nobody dies anymore in this show unless we see it happen for sure. The plot armor they have now is way too strong for them to be killed by a little thing like falling off a giant wall of ice into a freezing ocean.
shareExactly. Bigger characters like that won't be killed on a whim without a deal being made about it. They even gave one of Jon's red shirts beyond the wall a bit of a goodbye like he was of minor importance.
shareI'm hoping at least one of them or hopefully both are still alive. Someone needs to survive to to send a raven to Jon that the wall has been destroyed and the NK and company are free.
