Unrealistic that he would get those girls

No way in the world this guy get both Bell and Kunis. Maybe one of them as an anomaly but two incredibly hot girls off the bat no chance.

Don't get me wrong in real life I'm sure segal does very well, being rich and famous. But come on his character isn't rich or famous in the movie how woul he land these girls?

Always makes the films too unrealistic for me.

reply

Yeah, like in Chef. Didn't they have Jon Favreau getting Sofia Vergara and Scarlett Johannsen?

reply

Sofia Vergara and Scarlett Johansson?

I haven't watched that movie, but that is just ridiculous.

reply

Well, the character was rich.

reply

But he was a chef, right? Or is he a restaurant owner?

reply

Yeah but a chef in a high-scale restaurant, he made very good money.

reply

But when I search for professional chef salary (How much does a 5 star chef earn in USA?), following is what I got:

Michelin Chef Salary
Annual Salary Monthly Pay
Top Earners $60,000 $5,000
75th Percentile $48,000 $4,000
Average $43,963 $3,663
25th Percentile $37,500 $3,125

Here is also this: https://www.salary.com/research/salary/hiring/hotel-executive-chef-salary

So that is middle class at best.

reply

Not just those girls, he also pulls down a one night stand any time he wants

reply

Even though he didn't have enough to even satisfy one of them gals

reply

It's called A MOVIE, Captain obvious. this is not Fox News.

reply

Fox News is as real as this movie.

reply

Nice catch.

reply

Dude seriously ...you must be a hideous choad cause its not that hard to get girls who look like bell or kunis especially if you act like you can't get them ...chicks sense when your desperate and besides both of them are average girls

reply

Mila Kunis is average? Now I know you're delusional....

reply

Kunis is in no way average, she's a Classic beauty.

reply

In what universe are these women average? Specially Mila Kunis.

reply

When did RomComs ever show us the realistic take on dating? 

Be careful not to choke on your aspirations, Director.

Remember, Hollywood is disproportionately homosexual, so you have gay men writing about their own ultra promiscuous lives thinly veiled with heterosexual characters. The epitome of this phenomenon is Sex in the City.

It was totally realistic. The guy -- Peter, the protagonist (I forget the actor's name) -- was a successful musician composing the music for a hugely popular TV program. Unless you're a pop/rock star, you can't get anymore successful as a musician.

Secondly, Peter had a likeable, funny charisma and was tall, which women generally like.

Lastly, Kunis is decidedly average. Sure, she has a cute face, but she lacks essential curves.

reply

It's a Judd Apatow production and a lot has changed since 2008. Jason Segal would have to be a "Chad" to get a Bell or Kunis. There's nothing believable about either relationship today. He'll Rom/Coms don't even exist today and if they did the movie would promote a couple that's mixed race.
