23 losses?

In Rocky Balboa right before the fight they show his record with 23 losses. Was that a mistake since he didn't lose his 23rd fight yet?

His final record shows 23 losses.

Seems like a mistake, yes, although hasn't his professional record always been inconsistent throughout the movies? The headshot they use is also a current photo of Rocky wearing gloves, although I suppose that could have been taken before the fight, around the time of the press conference.

You must remember what kind of a club fighter he was prior to fighting Apollo Creed in the first Rocky ! He was a mediocre brawler that fought for peanuts in small clubs. Like his first fight in "Rocky (1976), with Spider Rico.

I do remember what kind of a fighter he was. Before he fought creed in Rocky, they announced his record 44 wins and 20 losses. Then he loses to creed in Rocky and clubber Lang in Rocky 3, giving him 22 losses before he fights in Rocky Balboa, after he loses that fight, he should have 23 losses. But they show he has 23 losses BEFORE the final fight.

Might really well be a mistake.

He lost Adrian? or the secret fight with Apollo at the end of 3.

Thunderlips was the draw maybe.

reply

Maybe this is confirmation that he lost the third fight with Apollo!

reply

Perhaps forfeiting the heavyweight title to Union Cane at the beginning of Rocky V counts as a loss

reply

He probably fought between Rocky V and Rocky Balboa.

reply

And they said he had 1 draw. I guess that was the fight with Thunderlips? lol

reply

No his first fight with Apollo was lol.

reply

don't typically exhibition fights not count against record?

Mistakes like this happen all the time. The WWE makes the same mistakes with many of their wrestlers. No biggie
